Here is the list of books I've read so far in 2010:
1) The Princess Diaries - Meg Cabot
2) Princess in the Spotlight - Meg Cabot
3) Princess in Love - Meg Cabot
4) Princess in Waiting - Meg Cabot
5) Project Princess - Meg Cabot
6) Princess in Pink - Meg Cabot
7) Princess in Training - Meg Cabot
8) Valentine Princess - Meg Cabot
9) The Princess Present - Meg Cabot
10) Party Princess - Meg Cabot
11) Sweet Sixteen Princess - Meg Cabot
12) Princess on the Brink - Meg Cabog
13) Princess Mia - Meg Cabot
14) Forever Princess - Meg Cabot
15) A Gate at the Stairs - Lorrie Moore (a quick pick-up from the library that ended up being pretty good: a girl become a nanny for a wacko (white) family who adopts a little (black) girl)
*16) My Sister’s Keeper - Jodi Picoult (can't wait to see this movie now)
*17) One Second After - William R. Forstchen (one of the scariest and most realistic end-of-the-world type books I've ever read)
18) Falling for the Teacher - Tracy Kelleher (my first smut novel that had very little smut in it...I was disappointed)
19) Wetlands - Charlotte Roche (very gross book that apparently sold millions of copies in Europe...I still cannot believe I read this from cover to cover without putting it down and/or vomiting)
20) The Stone Diaries - Carol Shields (the re-telling of a woman's life, from birth to death, a good read but not spectacular)
21) Let it be Morning - Sayed Kashua (Ever since "Kite Runner" I've been thoroughly enjoying these Middle Eastern themed books...it's amazing how little we truly know about Iraq/Iran/Pakistan/Afghanistan)
*22) The Memory Keeper’s Daughter - Kim Edwards (very moving, very enjoyable read about a man who gives away his Down Syndrome daughter at birth and tells his wife the baby died)
23) Let the Great World Spin - Colum McCann (it was based in NYC so that was great and the characters in this book intermingled a lot, which was really interesting)
*24) The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold (must see this movie now)
25) Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret - Judy Blume (should have read this when I was 12...why didn't I?)
My New Year's resolution was to re-read all my Princess Diary books and I managed to accomplish this in less than a month. I'm not going to count those books in my year-end tally, but it's worth a mention in this quarterly report (since, after all, there were 14 books there, regardless of how long it took me to read them all!) I put an asterisk beside the books that I've, so far, enjoyed the most. Again, I left all the Princess Diary books out of this since, obviously, I enjoy them all and have read them all at least twice now (except the last one). I rarely throw books aside unfinished, and so far this year, I've yet to do it (though, for one book in particular, I am still not sure how I got through it all without putting it down....**clears throat** Wetlands ** clears throat**).
From now on, I am going to post my list every first day of the season, just to see where I'm at and how many books I'm going through, and to keep tabs on my reading.
90 days until summer!!!
