I love you,

Even if the sky is falling,

~memoir~ (entry one) | the warmth of the sun named you (-baby hold me close)
Zhou Mi sighed as he watched the scenery outside his car with bored eyes. The weather is pleasant, with the shining sun, the blue sky, the laughing children, but Zhou Mi still feels somewhat empty. This day, for him, was just like any other days. He went to school sent by his chauffeur, learn everything he needs, hang out with his friends for a while and then go back home, yet again, sent by his chauffeur.
It’s safe to say that Zhou Mi’s life as a 13-years-old was pretty boring.
Sometimes, he wonders if he’s going to live like this for the rest of his life. Obeying every single thing his parents had instructed him to do like a good child he was forced to be, trapped in the golden cage that was build by his parents. He wonders if he’s going to grow old and die with regrets of not being able to live the way he wants.
Zhou Mi nodded almost lifelessly when the chauffeur informed him that they’ve already arrived to the mansion (the so-called home sweet home, but it was nothing but a prison for him). He stretched out a small smile when he saw the older male smiled at him, not wanting to hurt the older one’s feelings. Even though he’s only a chauffeur, Zhou Mi had known him ever since he was much, much younger since the older one had worked with his family for 20 years.
“Mi gege!”
A wide smile beamed across Zhou Mi’s face at the familiar voice as the owner of the beautiful voice dashed towards him, “Gege! You’re back!”
Zhou Mi chuckled lightly at the younger one’s antics and ruffled his hair, “Are you happy that I’m home, Kuixian?”
Kuixian nodded vigorously, “Of course! I’m always bored when you’re not here, gege! That’s why I’m happy when you’re home!”
Zhou Mi’s smiled widened. Kuixian is one of his employees’ nephew. He’s two years younger than him, but because of his family’s financial issue, he couldn’t go to school and has to work with Zhou Mi’s family so that he can help lessened his uncle’s financial burden. That’s why Zhou Mi had volunteered to teach him everything he had learnt from school. They had known each other since kindergarten, that’s why they’re extremely close to each other.
For this one, simple reason, no matter how much he hated his boring, uneventful life, how much he’s tired of living through the path his parents had prepared for him from before he was born, he endured everything. For this one, simple reason - Kuixian.
Because of Kuixian, he went to school, listen to every word his parents told him obediently and buried down the desire to run away and be free.
“So, gege, what did you learn today?” Kuixian asked him excitedly as he followed Zhou Mi to his room like a child who found out Christmas is early this year.
Zhou Mi stared at Kuixian tenderly as the younger one continue shooting him questions about his day with that grin that never falters even the slightest. That’s one of the things that he loves about Kuixian. The younger one always find happiness in even the littlest thing and his face is always brightened by his beautiful smile. Zhou Mi even wonders if there’s even a time where Kuixian is sad and that bright eyes are glossed with tears. Not that he wants to see Kuixian to be sad, he was just curious.
Because Kuixian is happy all the time.
Zhou Mi broke his own thoughts when it’s just the two of them in his room before he pulled the younger one into a hug, stopping Kuixian’s words.
“Gege? What’s wrong?”
Zhou Mi shook his head, but he still hugged him tighter, “Nothing… I missed you…”
There was silence before beautiful laughter erupted from Kuixian’s throat as the younger one hugged him back, “You’re so childish, gege.”
“I’m 13. I have every right in the world to be childish,” Zhou Mi answered casually before he closed his eyes when Kuixian stroked his hair lovingly.
“If your parents found us like this, they’ll be furious, you know…”
How come Kuixian could sound so mature when he’ just 11 was a wonder to Zhou Mi. On the outside, Kuixian seemed like a childish and innocent young boy while Zhou Mi is the big brother who’ll take care of him. But at certain times - times like this moment - Zhou Mi found himself finding comfort and security in Kuixian’s arms.
“…Just a little while…” Zhou Mi answered softly and smiled to himself when Kuixian laughed lightly, serenading his hearings with warm melody.

“Hyung, let’s go.”
Donghae looked up at the familiar voice and he smiled while standing up and slung his bag over his shoulder, “You finished early today.”
The younger one shrugged as he kept walking, Donghae beside him, “The teacher said my voice didn’t need any more training. I just need to practice the song.”
Donghae nodded slowly at the younger one’s words in understanding, “What about your dance practice?”
“Hmm?” Donghae raised his brows at the question before realization hits him, “Ah… Well, it’s going perfectly.”
The younger one hummed in reply as he nodded thoughtfully, “Hyung…you didn’t really have a dance practice, right?”
The dancer jumped at the other one’s statement as he stammered for any reply but was cut off when the younger one chuckled at him, “Hyukjae hyung told me you stayed behind to wait for me, not because you have a dance practice after school.”
By this second, Donghae was blushing furiously, that goddamn monkey! I thought he’s my friend!? He knew he shouldn’t tell Hyukjae about his plan. He scrambled for any excuses or lies to get him out of this, but seeing the look in the younger one’s chocolate brown orbs - the soul readers as he called it - he confessed with a sigh, “Yeah…”
The younger one raised his brows, an amused look on his face before he turned to continue his walk, “Hyukjae hyung didn’t tell me about it.”
“Huh?”
He smirked as he gave Donghae a side-glance, “I was just testing you. Seems like my hunch was right.”
Donghae blinked with his jaw-dropped as the other one walked away, embarrassment shoot through his body, flaming his face red, I’m such an idiot!!!
After he had known the younger one, Donghae was determined to get closer to him. He had done everything he could just to get closer to him, from shamelessly plastering himself to the younger one throughout the school when he has the chance to pushing his brain and body to the limit so that he can study together with him (when Lee Donghae can never sit still for more than 15 minutes, especially if it involves Mathematics. But it’s okay, for the younger one - who conveniently loves Math - Donghae will endure the pain).
Even so, Donghae still haven’t walked the younger one home. He still haven’t see what kind of place the other one lives in (his first guess was somewhere in the woods, probably surrounded by beautiful flowers and refreshing air because the younger one is ridiculously beautiful, so it make sense if he lives in somewhere equally beautiful, right? But thank God, Hyukjae managed to reason him out of it) because he couldn’t find himself offering to walk him home.
Well, he certainly can’t tell him that he waited for him after school because he’s worried about him going home alone (and also because he likes him), right? He’s not sure how the younger one would react to that, but knowing him, he’ll probably just stare at Donghae blankly before letting out an amused smile.
That’s why he took the opportunity of being in the dance club and the upcoming school festival. Since the younger male has to practice his singing for the upcoming school festival, Donghae had used the dance practice excuse just so that he can walk the younger one home. He told him that since he also has to stay back after school, it won’t hurt if they go home together and the younger one had agreed with a shrug.
“Are you angry?” Donghae asked as he fiddled with his fingers nervously, eyes darted to the ground as he catches up with the younger one’s slow and steady steps.
“Well yeah,” Donghae mentally wailed and whined, “But I think I’m more disappointed since you lied to me…”
Donghae scratched his cheek, “Sorry about that…”
He snapped his head up when he heard soft chuckles coming from the other one and he’s sure his heart had stopped functioning and his brain had shut down when the younger one gave him an amused side-glance.
“But still…” he smiled softly, his chocolate brown doe-eyes shone with warmness that caught Donghae’s breath, “Thank you, hyung.”
Now, Donghae was most definitely, without a doubt, one hundred percent, swear-on-my-mother's-grave positive that he’s indeed, head over heels for Cho Kyuhyun.

“I have to go now, gege. I have errands to be done.”
Zhou Mi pouted lightly as Kuixian gets up from the bed and picked up all the books and stationeries from their previous lessons. He gripped the younger one’s wrist, stopping his movement, “Gege?”
“Just leave them there… I’ll clean that up.”
Kuixian smiled cheekily, “I was paid to do this, young master~” He giggled when Zhou Mi baby-glared him, knowing very well that the older male hates him calling him ‘young master’.
“I told you I don’t want you to call me that… Especially when we’re alone…”
“I’m joking, gege,” Kuixian said and brushed Zhou Mi’s hand from his wrist so that he can finished cleaning up. After he had placed the books and stationeries neatly on Zhou Mi’s study table, he walked towards the door, but was stopped by Zhou Mi.
“Kuixian,” he called, “Can you just…skip your work? Just for today?”
Kuixian stared at him for a moment before he smiled, “You know I can’t gege. If your parents find out about this, I’ll be fired. We don’t want that, don’t we?”
Zhou Mi sighed in defeat and nodded weakly to Kuixian’s words. Even though his parents had accepted Kuixian as the family’s employee, doesn’t mean they have the heart of gold. His parents are proud people; their success in business had made his family one of the most respected ones. It could be because of the watching eyes from people around them, but his parents is very strict and particular about who Zhou Mi hangs out with and that’s why when Zhou Mi first offered himself to tutor Kuixian since the younger one can’t go to school, they had objected strongly to it.
However, after a few pleads and promises, they reluctantly agreed, but with a condition; their relationship will never go beyond a master and a servant.
Of course, secretly, Zhou Mi never agrees to the condition. It doesn’t make sense, he had known Kuixian from kindergarten and Kuixian is the first friend he ever made. He had grown attached to the younger one and had treated him as his own younger brother (or maybe something more than that). But, they were careful not to let his parents find out about their growing affection and love with each other, always cautious even when they’re just talking in front of his parents.
“I’m going,” Kuixian said and when he just got a lifeless nod from Zhou Mi, the younger one smiled softly before he pecked Zhou Mi’s cheek. The older one’s eyes widened in surprise; it was rare for Kuixian to show his affection. It’s always comforting words that comes from the younger one.
He was still in daze after Kuixian had exited the room and left him alone. He blinked after a moment and his cheeks warmed at the lingering kiss. He lets out a silly smile, covering the growing smile with his hand even though no one saw him.
Zhou Mi walked to his bed and laid down, the smile still on his face. He then took out his journal, flipping through the pages until he found the photo that was hidden between the pages. His smiled widened at the photo as he took it out. It was the photo of him and Kuixian, taken 5 years ago during their trip to Japan with Auntie Yuki. Those days were the rare days where Zhou Mi could shower his affection towards Kuixian without worrying about his parents. Auntie Yuki has no problem with him hanging out with Kuixian since she also adores the younger male.
Zhou Mi brushed his thumb over Kuixian’s smiling face, feeling something warm crept on his chest, hugging his heart tenderly.
One day, Kuixian…he promised as he pulled the photo to his chest, his eyes closed, one day…we will be free…
--
Donghae was still standing still even after Kyuhyun had walked a few steps ahead of him. His mind was filled with a beautiful place with rainbows and unicorns and sunshine after the smiled Kyuhyun had sent him. It’s the rare type of smile since Kyuhyun is always smirking or maybe have that bored look on his face and Donghae would do anything to get that smile from Kyuhyun.
Looks like he succeeds by being an idiot.
That doesn’t sound right, but who cares anyways? He said he would do anything to bring out that smile; even if he needs to be an idiot for the rest of his life.
In the middle of his day-dreaming about smiling and giggling (he needs to hear that one from Kyuhyun as soon as possible) Kyuhyun, his ears caught a soft humming sound. It didn’t take him long to recognize the song. It was the song he heard Kyuhyun sang after the blow up with Jessica (the song of their first official meeting). He had been curious about the song as he had never heard it before except from Kyuhyun.
“Hey!”
Kyuhyun turned around with raised brows before he smiled, “What is it?”
Donghae was caught off guard with that smile (again) before he blinked away from his trance and grinned, “That song… That song that you sang before, what was it called?”
Kyuhyun didn’t answer and turned around to walk and Donghae jogged lightly to match his steps when he heard Kyuhyun’s soft voice, “It’s a song umma used to sing to me. She always sings to me while patting my hair, it’s my favorite song.”
Donghae stared at Kyuhyun for a while; with the wind blowing, tousling his hair messily, the soft smile on his face and the tender look in his eyes, Kyuhyun looked ethereal, like an angel or some sort. He smiled and slowly reached to hold his hand, “I…I love it too.”
Oh shoot, Donghae thought in slight panic when he was hit with realization, I’m doing things without thinking again! Oh he’s going to hate me! He’s going to slap me and says he hates-
Donghae’s panic thoughts were cut off when he saw the soft smile on Kyuhyun’s face just grew wider as he stared at their entwined fingers, so…he’s not…mad…?
Exhaling softly as he tried to calm down his rapid heartbeats and tone down the pinks on his cheeks, he stuttered out, “Uhm…. Can you sing that song again? Uh… Some other time maybe?”
To his surprise, Kyuhyun actually laughed (yay Lee Donghae!! This is even better than giggles) and nodded “Sure, hyung.”
Donghae grinned, teeth showing, face brightened, “Thank you, Kyuhyun-ah.”
One day… Definitely one day… Donghae thought as he looked at Kyuhyun in silence with the same goofy smile on his face, one day…
I’ll make you mine… Just like how you’ve made me yours…
