Summary:
I love you,
Even if the world is shaking,
Even if the sky is falling,
Even if the ground is breaking,
Even if I was left alone,
Even if you leave,
Even if he’s there,
Even if that beautiful smile isn’t mine anymore
-The closed Pandora’s Box has been opened-
“He’s still alive…?”
“Yes, sir. Our sources found out that he had been living in China after the accident and that he had lost his memories.”
The older male averted his eyes from the canary he kept in a silver bird-cage to give the younger one a side-glance, “Is that so?”
The male nodded, “Yes, sir.”
“And you’re sure about this?”
“Positive, sir. We’ve ran a background check on him and the person he lives with and I’m sure you’ll be interested to read our founding.”
Taking the papers his assistant handed to him, the male read the contents briefly, a smirk broke across his face, “This is interesting…”
Dropping the papers onto the mahogany desk, he turned the swivel chair around, his fox-like eyes darkened as he watched the busy streets in Seoul absentmindedly.
“My little singing canary, whose wings I ripped out….” The smirk grew wider into a feral grin, “It seems like his wings grew back.”
--
Chaerin gasped as she jumped from her sleep, her breathing labored and her dark brown hair was sweat-matted to her forehead. When she realized she’s in her own room, she lets out a shaky sigh of relieved and closed her eyes, trying to calm her breathing and the erratic thumping of her heart.
“….Baby…?”
Chaerin opened her eyes when she heard the familiar voice of Hyukjae, still rough from the sleep. The older male cleared his throat as he pushed himself up into a sitting position and looked at his wife in concern, “What’s wrong?”
“…N-Nothing oppa…” Chaerin answered, but the truth is her body is still trembling and the fear she felt is still haunting her.
Feeling Hyukjae’s eyes on her, she quickly slipped out the bed and went to her vanity table. Hyukjae stared at his wife’s back for a moment as the said female was rummaging through the drawer before he quietly gets up from the bed and walked towards her.
“I thought you don’t need them anymore?”
Hyukjae commented as he stood behind Chaerin, watching the bottle of sleeping pills in her hand, frowning upon noticing the slight tremble of Chaerin’s hands. He knows that Chaerin had trouble sleeping before, that’s why she needed sleeping pills, but after a while, she had stopped taking them, saying that she didn’t need them anymore. So it’s a wonder to Hyukjae why Chaerin suddenly needs to take them now.
“Chaerin, sweetheart,” Hyukjae wrapped his arms around her waist, “Tell me, what’s wrong?”
Chaerin stilled before she answered, her voice soft, “The nightmares…”
Understanding slowly wrapped itself around Hyukjae and he lets out a soft sigh and tightened the grip, hoping that it would somewhat calm Chaerin down.
“Oppa…” Chaerin started before she turned around in Hyukjae’s arms to face the older male. Hyukjae frowned again at seeing the fear and anxiety in Chaerin’s glassy eyes, “I think something…something bad is going to happen…”
“What do you mean?”
“I…I don’t know,” Chaerin sighed and Hyukjae’s heart churned to see his beautiful wife looking somewhat strained and exhausted, “But I’ve got this bad feeling…like something bad is going to happen… I’m worried because…somehow, I felt like it has something to do with Donghae oppa…”
“Chaerin-”
“Oppa,” Chaerin cuts him off with a pleading look, “I want to go back to Korea please… I need to make sure Donghae oppa is okay…”
Hyukjae stayed silent at Chaerin’s words; he knew about Chaerin and Donghae’s relationship, that’s why there’s not even the slightest jealousy he felt right now. The two of them had known each other even before Hyukjae met Donghae. They’re very close that the first time Hyukjae saw the two of them, he thought they’re in a relationship or something. But that’s not it; the bond that Chaerin and Donghae shared is stronger than just lovers or friends.
It’s something more than that.
“Chaerin-ah… I think you’re just being paranoid… I’m sure Donghae is fine… Heechul hyung is there, right?” Hyukjae said comfortingly as he lovingly stroked the younger female’s hair, smiling softly when Chaerin closed her eyes and exhaled slowly.
“….I guess you’re right… I might…just need some sleep…”
--
“Hyung, are you sure this will work?”
Yunho averted his eyes from the entrance of Empire Hotel to Kikwang who’s sitting on the passenger seat beside him. The latter was wearing the typical office suit with thick-rimmed glasses. Not answering his question, he ruffled his hair, loosened his maroon tie and unbuttoned the few top buttons of his dress shirt. The younger blinked in confusion before he whined, “Hyung! Do you know how long it takes for me to style my hair!?”
“You need to look like a sick man, Kikwang. Not a corporate man,” Yunho said simply before he averted his eyes back to the entrance.
“Junhyung, have you got all the info I told you to find?”
“Yeah,” Junhyung answered, his fingers busied tapping the keypads of his laptop, “But there are some problems.”
Yunho looked at him through the rearview mirror, “What do you mean?”
“I’ve found all the info about Zhou Kuixian, from his childhood to now and…” Junhyung trailed off before he looked up and locked his eyes with Yunho’s, “It said here, Zhou Kuixian was born on 6th July. But Cho Kyuhyun was born on 3rd February in the same year. So…”
“They’re different person,” Yunho concluded with a sigh. He knew it’s impossible for Zhou Kuixian to be Cho Kyuhyun. He rubbed his chin in thought, wondering if he should continue this or not.
“Yeah… But…” he looked up at Junhyung’s voice, “Other than that, I can’t find any other data about him.”
“What do you mean?”
Junhyung shrugged as he scanned the content in his laptop, “I can’t find anything about him before three years ago. It’s like… He was born then suddenly disappears without a trace and reappeared again three years ago.”
Three years ago…? Yunho thought, that’s the same as the accident… “What about the fiancé?”
“His name is Zhou Mi and he works at a small café in China with Zhou Kuixian and his 3 other friends. And just like Zhou Kuixian, I can’t find any info about his pasts except the ones from three years ago to now.”
“That’s just weird,” Yoochun, who’s sitting next to Junhyung, commented.
Yunho hummed, agreeing to the younger one. If Zhou Kuixian is really not Cho Kyuhyun and just a normal Chinese man, why is his information seems like it was hidden for some reasons? It’s a 50-50 chance that Kuixian could be Kyuhyun, but it’s still a gamble and Yunho wasn’t sure if he should take the chance.
But I got this feeling that he’s Kyuhyun…
Donghae’s words rang in his ears and Yunho sighed, “Junhyung, what about their friends? Colleagues?”
“They seemed normal,” Junhyung answered, “Except for the sudden blank in their data, Zhou Mi and Zhou Kuixian seemed like a normal couple living in a small town. Their only friends are the ones working at the café with them. The waiter, Henry Lau…” he tapped the keypad, “The waitress, Victoria Song and…oh!”
“What’s wrong?” Yunho asked.
“Well, Henry Lau and Victoria Song were Zhou Mi’s friends from 4 years ago…but I found that the baker, named Hangeng, was his childhood friend.”
“Good. Find out more about him. If they were childhood friends, the must’ve live in the same neighborhood, went to the same school, university, whatever,” Junhyung nodded to Yunho’s orders as he rapidly typed on his laptop, “And send Doojoon and Hyunseung to China and tell them to find out more.”
At this, Junhyung stopped typing, his eyes widened, “What!? Why…!??” He whined, “Can’t you send someone else!? Someone other than Doojoon!?”
Yunho rolled his eyes at the younger one’s antics while Kikwang and Yoochun giggled to themselves, “That’s why I sent Hyunseung too.” Ignoring Junhyung’s pout, “It’s an order, Jun. Do it.”
“….On it…” Junhyung muttered reluctantly, not after kicking Yoochun’s leg and smacking Kikwang’s head painfully.
Yunho smirked to himself as he shook his head lightly. Doojoon and Junhyung had been dating for a few years now and everyone knows how whiny the usually-mature-rational-and-motherly Yong Junhyung can be when Doojoon and him were given a separate assignment (he even whined this morning about not bringing Doojoon along with them today).
He looked back at the entrance and his eyes widened at seeing the male who was involved in a fatal car accident three years ago, who caused Donghae to be in misery for three years, Cho Kyuhyun, standing at the entrance, a soft smile on his face.
“What the fuck…?” Yunho breathe out, eyes still wide in disbelieve. Kikwang, Yoochun and Junhyung looked at their leader in puzzlement before their eyes followed the older male’s gaze.
Their eyes widened, “Isn’t that…” Junhyung picked up the photos beside him before looking back at the oblivious male, “….He looked the same…”
“….Kyuhyun….”
“….hyung…. Yunho hyung!” Changmin sighed loudly before he snapped his fingers in front of Yunho’s face, “Yunho hyung!!”
Yunho jumped before he blinked rapidly at Changmin, “H-Huh?”
Changmin sighed for the second time before he took Yunho’s hands in his and sat down on the floor while looking up at Yunho, “Hyung… You’ve been spacing out again… What’s wrong?”
Yunho stared at his lover for a moment before he averted his eyes to their linked fingers, “Nothing really, Changmin-ah… It’s just…”
“Just…?” Changmin prodded softly.
Yunho sighed and looked at Changmin seriously, “Did you remember about Donghae’s request?”
Changmin’s eyes widened slightly in silence and Yunho continued, “I… Uhm…”
“Hyung?”
Scratching the nape of his neck, Yunho took out a couple of photos from an envelope, staring at them for a moment before hesitantly giving them to Changmin. The younger one looked at him confusedly, but still took the photos from him.
When the photos had changed hands, Yunho watched in silence as Changmin browsed through the photos, the younger one’s eyes widened with each photos.
“This….This…Wh-Wha…” Changmin looked at him and the photos repeatedly, disbelieve scrawled all over his face, “H-Hyung.. I… I-It can’t b-be it… I-I…. K-Kyu-”
Changmin’s words were cut off when Yunho hugged him tightly and the older one tightened his grip when he heard soft sobs coming from Changmin, “H-Hyung… T-Tell me if-if it’s K-Kyuhyun… P-Please… T-Tell me i-it is him, hyung…”
“I don’t know, Chami-ah…” Yunho said ruefully and Changmin’s sobbed harder. He knew it’ll be hard for Changmin since Kyuhyun is his best friend. He had lost him once, and he knew the younger one was afraid if he loses Kyuhyun for the second time, if this Kuixian guy isn’t Kyuhyun.

“Hangeng!! Tell me what the hell is going on!?”
Henry shot worried look to Hangeng as Victoria fumed in anger. After the call the older male got from Zhou Mi, he suddenly told them to pack up and that they’re going to Korea right now. Victoria had demanded what’s going on, but she didn’t get any response from Hangeng.
“Hangeng!!” Victoria yelled again, her face reddened in anger. Henry quickly grabbed the older one’s arm, “Victoria… Calm down… I’m sure he has an explanation.”
“And I want that explanation now!!” Henry winced as Victoria yelled at him, ignoring the looks other people had shot them.
“Victoria…” Henry pleaded, but was cut off when Hangeng called him to hurry up.
Victoria jerked her arm away from Henry as she stride towards Hangeng with the anger still burning in her. She hated it when she’s being left in the dark, especially if it involves her friends (that’s why she snapped when Zhou Mi won’t tell her why he’s so afraid of going to Korea). She knew, something bad is happening right now and she’s frustrated because Hangeng won’t tell her anything.
“Hangeng,” she started calmly, still trying to calm herself down, “Tell me… What is going on?”
Hangeng stared at her with conflicted emotions before he sighed loudly. Pinching the bridge of his nose, the older male finally answered, “Zhou Mi called me…”
“And?” Victoria prodded, patience running out.
“…H-He…” Hangeng hesitated, gnawing his bottom lip nervously, “He…”
“Hangeng!”
Hangeng sighed again with closed eyes before he opened them again to look at Victoria seriously, “Kuixian is missing.”
“Hello?”
“….G-Ge…”
“Zhou Mi? Mi, what’s wrong?”
Zhou Mi sobbed, “G-Ge….”
By this Hangeng had started to panic. Zhou Mi sounded so broken - just like three years ago and that was the last time he had seen the younger one looked so lifeless. Hangeng always wish, always pray that he won’t have to see Zhou Mi in that dreadful state anymore.
“Mi… Tell me, what’s wrong,” Hangeng asked again, ignoring Victoria’s ‘Is that Mi?’.
“Ge… W-What should I do now…?” Zhou Mi said, his voice cracked between his tears, “I-I don’t want to lose him, ge… I-I love him s-so much… I d-don’t want to lose him again….”
“Mi…” Hangeng’s heart started to beats faster in worry, “Mi… I don’t understand what you’re saying. Tell me, what’s wrong? What happened? Where’s Kuixian?”
At the mention of the young barista’s name, Zhou Mi cried harder and Hangeng could somewhat guess what had happened, but he still waited for Zhou Mi to tell him. At least, he still has that slim chance that he was wrong, right?
“G-Ge… I don’t want to lose him, ge… I love him…”
“Mi…”
“What should I do now, ge? K-Kuixian… Kuixian is not here…”
Hangeng almost fell on his knees at hearing Zhou Mi’s broken words if he didn’t sit on the nearest chair. Victoria had been pushing him to tell what the fuck is going on but he could barely hear the younger female’s words. His brain suddenly blanked out and all he could think was oh God, oh God, no, no, no, Mi… Mi… Oh my God… Mi… Kuixian… Please, please no…
Zhou Mi lets out a whimper, bitter tears rolled down his cheeks as he pressed his hand that was holding Kuixian’s phone to his aching chest, “K-Kuixian is gone, ge… I-I-I don’t know what to do-God, I-I can’t lose him, ge-Please-I-I can’t… I-I need him so much, ge… I love him… I love him-I need him…”
Hangeng bit his lips, his eyes watered at hearing Zhou Mi’s plea. He didn’t know the right words to say to Zhou Mi as he knows, nothing can mend the younger one’s broken heart now. The love of his life was gone and taken away from him - for the second time - and Hangeng really can’t say ‘everything will be alright’ when he himself wasn’t sure if everything’s going to be alright.
So he stayed silent, painfully listening to Zhou Mi’s broken sobs.
Zhou Mi stared at the wallpaper of Kuixian’s phone with swollen, faraway eyes. After the call he had with Hangeng, the baker had told him to stay at the airport and wait for them. He was also told to inform Auntie Yuki about this. Zhou Mi had debated with his inner self about informing the older woman about this since he didn’t want to drag his aunt into his life’s mess again, but knowing Auntie Yuki probably would be the only person who can help him now, he called the Japanese female, telling her everything that had happened with tears that he failed to held in.
Auntie Yuki said nothing, only lets out a sympathetic sigh and told him to rest and that he can stay in the hotel for as long as he wants. Zhou Mi thanked her before he hung up and now that he’s sitting in the airport, without Kuixian by his side, he felt a sudden loneliness just cruelly surged through his body - despite the numbers of people talking and walking around him.
Zhou Mi lets out a trembled sigh and closed his eyes when his head suddenly pounded and hidden memories began to play in his head, haunting him like nightmares - beautiful nightmares.
“Gege~ Mi gege~!”
Zhou Mi chuckled at the younger one’s cuteness, “Yeeeeesss~~”
He giggled, his shoulder bounced and his face reddened because of the coldness and the amount of laughter he had pour out for today, “Nothiiiiing~ I just want to say - I love you~!”
Zhou Mi smiled, his heart swelled with love, “Ge~ Do you love me?”
“Of course, I love you, baby,” he answered, approaching the younger one and cupped his cheeks as he looked at him tenderly, “I will always love you…”
--
“Kyuhyun…”
He groaned and shut his eyes tighter at the voice. He buried his face into the fluffy pillow deeper, wishing to have some more sleep. Besides, the pillows and bed were so soft and fluffy that he thinks he didn’t want to wake up at all.
A soft chuckle was heard, “Kyuhyun-ah… Hey, you have to wake up, baby…”
“…5 minutes…” he heard himself said. That’s funny, he didn’t recall remembering Zhou Mi’s voice sounded like this. It was someone else’s, but he didn’t think he should be worried. In fact, the male’s voice sounded so familiar that he felt oddly at home.
“No 5 minutes, Kyuhyun-ah…” the voice said, tenderness laced in his voice and he felt something was pressed against his body. A smile crept on his lips when he felt a pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind and a soft kiss placed on his neck, “You have to wake up now…”
He whined softly, “Buuuut….”
“No ‘buts’… Wake up now, Kyuhyun…. You have to wake up…”
Kuixian slowly blinked open his eyes, adjusting the lights that entered his vision and easing down the slight pound of his head. It took him about 2 minutes before his eyes were fully open and his brains started functioning properly. He looked at his sides; he was lying on a king-sized bed, a burgundy duvet with gold patterns covered his body. He frowned, this is not the hotel.
Slowly, he pushed himself up to study his surroundings further. He was in a room which is almost twice as large from the suite he’s staying in. The wall was painted with dark grey, with white curtains covering the two windows on each side of the bed and the carpet was in dark red. The king-sized bed he was on was in the centre of the room and pushed against the wall. There were two small tables on each side of the bed, black in color, matching the frame of the bed, also pushed against the wall. Two lamps were situated on top each table and across the wall, Kuixian saw a slightly opened door that gave him a glimpse of an extravagant bathroom. He shifted his eyes from the door to other part of the room and saw a complete television sets with black leather couches and a coffee table and also a walk-in closet. It was like the master bedroom of a filthy rich person like he saw in dramas he used to watch.
But the question is, what am I doing here?
Think, Kuixian, think, he pondered, what happened yesterday?
He closed his eyes, trying to recall his memories. He remembered, waiting outside the hotel as Zhou Mi checked out from the hotel. They decided to take an early flight to China because of what had happened with that strange male from the day before. And then they got into the taxi and arrived at the airport. After buying the tickets, they waited for their plane. And…Kuixian said he was hungry, so Zhou Mi offered to buy him something to eat.
Okay, you’re doing good, Kuixian frowned deeper as he tried to remember what happened next. He was waiting for Zhou Mi and…there’s a little girl - M…Min….Min… Min…ji…? Yes, Minji! - and she said something about him being pretty and gave him a blue daisy. And then, there’s a….guy. He dropped…his papers and Kuixian helped him. He looked a little pale, so Kuixian offered to help him carry the papers since he said he needed to get those to his office as fast as possible.
So, you carried the papers for him, Kuixian thought, and then…you guys went to the parking lot…and…
And…
What happened…?
Kuixian opened his eyes in confusion before he closed his eyes back, trying to remember what happened after that. He remembered joking about that male - Ki…something - looked fine (when he was so pale earlier) and then the male said he had always been fine. He was confused and when he turned around…
“When I turned around…” Kuixian said softly, what happened next?
“Good night.”
His eyes snapped open. He remembered; the damp cloth pressed against his mouth and nose, the stranger in black and that office boy smirking at him.
“Wha…” Kuixian muttered as his eyes widened, his heart beats faster and his breath labored when he felt the slight panic attack. It doesn’t take a genius to realize what kind of situation he was in.
Kuixian snapped his head towards the mahogany door of the room when realization hits him.
He was kidnapped.
--
“Missing? Kuixian is missing!? What did you mean by that!?”
Hangeng sighed at Victoria’s outburst, he knew the younger one would freak out like this, that’s why he decided not to tell her anything yet. He calmed the younger one down, “Calm down, Victoria. I can’t tell you the details because I don’t know anything yet. So we need-”
“What!?” Victoria cuts him off, “You just said Kuixian is missing and now you tell me to calm down!? I need explanation, Hangeng! I need it now!”
“Victoria…”
“Why are you guys always do this to me!? Always hiding important things from me - I mean, we’re friends, dammit!! But you guys treated me like I’m-”
“Victoria!” Hangeng grabbed her shoulder, stopping the younger one’s words completely. He sighed softly when he saw the tears in Victoria’s eyes. “Victoria…” he started softly, “I know, you care about Mi and Kuixian…and I know you’re angry because we kept some things from you… But, the most important thing is that Mi needs us right now. I seriously don’t know what really happened, but Mi needs us to be there with him.”
Silence ensued the trio of best friends before Victoria lets out a sigh. She sniffed and wiped her eyes as she nodded weakly, “Yeah… You’re right… Mi needs us…”
Hangeng smiled and patted her shoulder before he grabbed his luggage, “Let’s go.”
Exhaling, Hangeng opened his eyes slowly, staring at the blue sky and cotton-like clouds outside. He then averted his gaze to Victoria, who also has her eyes staring at the clouds emptily. As if sensing a pair of eyes on her, she turned her head towards him and when their eyes locked, Hangeng smiled in assurance at her, not surprised when Victoria didn’t smile back. The waitress turned her head back to the scenery outside and Hangeng sighed, letting his head fell against the window.
He closed his eyes slowly, I hope everything is okay…
--
Kuixian’s head snapped towards the mahogany door when he heard soft footsteps approaching the room. His heart beats even faster and he started to sweat in fear. Grabbing the nearest thing he could reach - the table lamp - he gets up from the bed, sweating hands gripping the metal body of the lamp tighter when the footsteps stopped in front of the door.
He waited as his wide eyes fixated on the doorknob, watching as the oval-shaped metal twisted before the door was opened slowly. He gulped, preparing his body for whatever that’s coming to him. A pair of legs came to his vision and he traveled his eyes from the jet-black shoes to the pair of jeans, to the lightly tanned muscled arms, to the toned body that was covered by a white dress shirt - a few top buttons undone, giving him a glimpse of toned chest - and lastly to the owner’s face.
Kuixian’s eyes widened, the lamp in his hand fell from the shock. A pair of hazel eyes stared back at him, filled with love and tenderness that struck Kuixian dumbfounded. It was the same guy that had kissed him, the one who had endlessly called him ‘Kyuhyun’, the one from yesterday.
“You…” he breathe out before anger filled his body, “WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!!??”
“Kyuhyun…” the male said softly, closing the door behind him as he took slow and steady steps towards Kuixian. The Chinese male began to panic again; he took a few steps back rapidly until his legs hit the bed, causing him to fell onto the bed.
“Don’t come near me!!” Kuixian warned, grabbing the fallen lamp back to his hands, forcing the other male to halt his steps.
“Kyuhyun…” the other said, almost pleadingly and Kuixian snapped, “I SAID STOP CALLING ME THAT!! MY NAME IS KUIXIAN! NOT KYUHYUN!!”
Silence surrounded the pair, only the sound of soft pants coming from Kuixian was heard. He almost regretted what he said when he saw the hurt that filled the soft hazel eyes, but quickly pushed the feeling away with a frown, I shouldn’t be sorry at him.
“Why did you do this!?” Kuixian demanded more strongly as he slowly gets up from the bed, “I told you I don’t know you-so why did you keep bothering me!?”
He gritted his teeth when the other one stayed silent. He then patted his shirt and pants, looking for his phone, “I need to call Mi-” he cuts off his words when he realized his phone was not in his pockets. The panic he felt earlier rise rapidly as he continued to search for his phone, no…no, no, no, no! He stopped when he was hit with realization that his phone was not with him and that the chance for him to escape had become infinitely thinner.
“It was no use,” he snapped his head towards the male who was looking at him calmly.
“You bastard!!” Kuixian lunged towards the male, raising the lamp as he tried to hit the other one, but was stopped with ease when the male grabbed the metal rod with his right hand. He tried to jerk his one and only weapon away, but no avail. As if getting tired with Kuixian’s fail attempts to jerk the lamp away, the male swiftly yanked the lamp from Kuixian’s grasp, throwing the lamp to the floor, letting it crashes into pieces.
Kuixian’s widened eyes followed the broken pieces before he turned towards the male, going to the last resort by using his bare hands. It was another failed attempt when the male gripped both of his wrists, effortlessly cutting any Kuixian’s attempt to attack him.
“Let me go!” Kuixian said, struggling in the male’s strong grip. He knows his wrists are going to bruise because of the deathly grip the male had on him, but that thought doesn’t stop him from struggling any further.
“Let me g-” his protests were cut off when the male cupped his face and kissed him harshly. His eyes widened and his body froze on its own accord. When he felt the male’s tongue caressing his lips, asking for entrance, Kuixian struggled, hitting and pushing the male.
After a few hits, he finally managed to push the male away and slapped him, his breath came in pants. He wiped his lips in disgust before the male lunged towards him again, kissing him even harder. Kuixian struggled yet again, refused to give in no matter how hard the male kissed him. The two bodies moved slowly towards the bed when the stranger pushed against him even harder until they fell onto the bed.
Kuixian gasped at the impact, giving the male an opportunity to slip his tongue inside, caressing Kuixian’s tongue for a passionate dance. His eyes widened at the thought of kissing other male than Zhou Mi and he tried to pull away but the male’s hands that were cupping his face prevented him from moving away.
When oxygen came in need, the male pulled away, his palms still cupping Kuixian’s flushed face, his eyes still shone with tenderness despite the showing red on his right cheek - the spot where Kuixian had slapped him, “Kyuhyun… Kyu, it’s me… It’s me, Donghae…”
Kuixian frowned when tears pooled in his eyes, “I don’t know you…” he said stubbornly, “I told you, I. DON’T. KNOW. YOU!”
The male - Donghae - bit his bottom lip before he pressed his lips against Kuixian’s, this time, softer, “Please, Kyuhyun… Don’t do this to me… I can’t live without you… Please…”
At this, tears rolled down Kuixian’s cheeks. He was scared and nervous beyond everything, but there’s a tiny part of his heart that was touched by the man’s words. There was something in those hazel eyes, something in what he was saying that filled Kuixian with a sense of longing and nostalgic.
“Please…let me go…” he begged, “Please… I…I don’t want to stay here…”
“Shh…”Donghae hushed him, wiping the falling tears with his thumbs gently, “Don’t be afraid, Kyuhyun-ah… Everything will be okay… I promise you…”
Kuixian shook his head, “Let me go, please… I want Mi… I want Mi…” He shut his eyes tightly, please, please, please, Mi… Please, please come and get me…
Donghae frowned at the younger one, tears threatened to fall from his eyes at seeing his Kyuhyun asking for another male. He pressed his forehead against the younger one, staring at the glossy chocolate brown doe-eyes, “Don’t say that, Kyuhyun-ah… I’m here, I’m here for you…”
Kuixian said nothing, tiredness already filling every part of his body. The grip he had on Donghae’s shirt loosened, his arms falling to his sides, his body weakened, his eyes droopy. He didn’t even fight when Donghae kissed him again, soft and yet passionate; part of it because he was too tired and part of it - tiny, tiny, tiny part of it - because he didn’t mind at all - as if he had been longing for this.
He closed his eyes slowly, the blurry images of two young children walking together filled his mind before everything went black.
Mi…
--
“….What?”
“I ask you if you’re okay,” Victoria said, worry all over her face.
Zhou Mi sighed, staring at Kuixian’s phone that was still in his grip, “No… I’m not…”
Victoria went silence in the reply, already expecting the answer. This man had lost his precious one, it’s a major lie if he said he’s fine.
“What now?” Victoria asked as she sat on the couch. All of them decided to meet Zhou Mi in his suite and Auntie Yuki even told them to stay in the same hotel and wait until the Japanese woman comes to Korea.
“Shouldn’t we lodge a police report?” Henry suggested, which was agreed by Victoria.
“Wait-What?” Zhou Mi suddenly asked, “We can’t do that!”
Henry and Victoria’s eyes darted towards the café owner in surprise, “What do you mean ‘we can’t do that’? We need to report this to the police!”
“N-No, I mean…” Zhou Mi sighed, “It’s just… Well… W-We need to wait for 24 hours, right?”
Victoria stared at him suspicion, but nodded nonetheless, “You’re right. But we can do it tomorrow.”
“No!” Zhou Mi objected, a bit too loud.
Victoria frowned, “Okay, what the hell is wrong with you?”
“I-I-” Zhou Mi stammered, suddenly standing up and pacing back and forth, “I-I told Auntie Yuki about this and she said she’ll handle it, okay? There’s no need to call the police.”
“Why not? Kuixian might be kidnapped and his life might be in danger right now!”
“I said Auntie Yuki will handle everything!!”
“What are you so afraid of!? Are you hiding something!?”
“Victoria, please, not now!”
“No, I want you to tell everything, Mi! I’m getting tired with all these fucking secrets you refused to tell me!!”
“SHUT UP!!” Zhou Mi snapped, slapping the nearest glass vase, sending it crashing to the floor. Victoria, Henry and Hangeng’s eyes widened in shock at the male’s outburst. Zhou Mi is known for his never-ending patience (part of the reason why he could endure being with Kuixian) and he never snaps like this.
“I…” Zhou Mi started after a moment of tense silence as he turned around to give Victoria a pleading look, “I’m sorry, Victoria… But I really don’t want to talk about it…”
Victoria sighed as she walked towards Zhou Mi. She patted his shoulder comfortingly, “Mi… I know you’re stressed out - we all do… But I need to know what really happened - since it might connect with Kuixian’s disappearance….”
She bit her bottom lip when the older one refused to say anything before she sighed silently, “Okay… Why don’t you just tell me what happened yesterday?”
“Yesterday?”
“Yeah… You told us there’s a stranger bothering Kuixian?”
Zhou Mi stared at the waitress, still hesitating to tell the truth. He averted his eyes to Hangeng before looking back at Victoria when the baker just nodded at him. He exhaled softly, “Yeah… There’s a guy…bothering him yesterday…”
“Do you remember when Kuixian cried - at the hospital - about a stranger suddenly kissed him?” Victoria nodded and Zhou Mi continued, “…It’s the same guy…”
Understanding dawn on Victoria’s face before she asked, “What did he say?”
“I…” Zhou Mi bit his lips, “I… He said… He called Kuixian…”
“And?”
“He called Kuixian….but with other name - a Korean name…” Zhou Mi finished.
Silence ensued the group of friends before Zhou Mi walked away from Victoria and sat on the bed. He pinched the bridge of his nose, “I…need some times alone…”
“We understand,” Hangeng said before he patted Zhou Mi’s shoulder and gave the younger one an assuring smile, “Take a rest…”
Zhou Mi nodded with a weak smile, waiting until all his friends had exited the room before he lied down with a heavy sigh. He draped his arms across his closed eyes, pushing away the emerging memories from the hidden past to the farthest back of his mind.
“Gege~!”
He can’t remember about the past now. It’s all over; he had already built a brick wall to prevent the memories from coming back to him. But now, his brick wall is collapsing, bits by bits and Zhou Mi is scared of the day where his brick wall disappeared and leaving him exposed with lies and dark secrets.
He clenched his hands when the nostalgic laughter rang in his ears, filling his heart with pained longing.
“What is it?”
“Gege, where are you~!?”
He chuckled at the pout that was forming on the younger one’s face, “Look in front of you, silly.”
The younger obeyed his words and he smiled when the male grinned while waving frantically at him, “Gege~!!”
He chuckled and waved back, phone still pressing against his ear, “Miss me already?”
“Of course!” the younger one admitted cheerily, still talking to the phone because of their distance, “I’ve been waiting for you to finish working!”
“Well, I’m here now, are you happy??”
“Ummm… No, not yet.”
“Why?”
“You’re still faraway, gege,” the younger giggled, his free hand reaching forward as if trying to grab him who was standing across the street, “Unless you’re at the distance where I can kiss you, I’m still not happy.”
He laughed, “You’re one demanding little brat.”
“I’m your demanding little brat, Mi gege~”

Yunho slowly gets up from the bed after he had kissed the sleeping Changmin’s forehead. The younger one had cried to his sleep because of the revelation earlier and Yunho could finally let out a sigh of relieve at seeing his lover looking so calm. Caressing Changmin’s soft locks one last time, he then exited the room, not forgetting to close the door behind him.
He walked down the stairs as he massaged his temple. There are a lot of things bugging his mind right now, mainly because of this Kuixian guy. Junhyung had given him a few photos of Kuixian when he was younger and he really looked like a younger Kyuhyun and this had just increased the possibilities of Donghae getting the wrong guy.
“Hyung!”
Yunho raised his brows tiredly at Kikwang who’s looking at him as if he just discovers his favorite girl-group is disbanding this year, “What is it?”
“You have to see this!” the younger one exclaimed and before Yunho could say anything, Kikwang had grabbed his hand and dragged him down the stairs. He almost trip and fell, but because of his good sense of balance, Yunho managed not to fall flat on his face (and possibly a greatly punished Kikwang).
“What is it, Kikwang-ah? If this is about that girl-group you lo-”
“No, hyung! It’s something Junhyung hyung found!”
Yunho’s eyes widened slightly, “What is it?”
Kikwang said nothing, only looking at Junhyung who’s looking at Yunho with seriousness all over his face. Yunho frowned at the look, he knows that look; the look that said one of his people is greatly injured or maybe died, the look that said their target is the wrong guy, the look that said a dirty secret is discovered and Yunho won’t like it at all. He went to the younger one and sat on the couch next to him, “Tell me.”
Junhyung sighed at the laptop on his lap before looking at Yunho, “When I dig in more about Zhou Kuixian and Zhou Mi… I found some things…”
“Some things?”
“Yeah, like the fact that Zhou Mi is the son of a very famous and rich businessman in China and the heir of the Zhou companies. And that Zhou Kuixian and Zhou Mi had known each other since kindergarten because Zhou Kuixian is the servant working in his parents’ mansion.”
“Wh…at?” Yunho’s jaw dropped before he sighed and massaged his aching head, “Dammit… We got the wrong guy…”
Junhyung stayed silent, “That’s not all, hyung…”
“What do you mean?”
Junhyung averted his eyes from the screen of his laptop to Yunho,
“Zhou Kuixian…was supposed to be dead because of a fatal gunshot three years ago.”

“What do you want to do today?”
“Hmm…. I was thinking about going to the amusement park since we haven’t gone there for a while…”
He smiled fondly, watching and listening as the younger one continued to talk about what they’re going to do to spend their day with. Even with other people standing around him, the younger one still stands out the most in his eyes; with his messy auburn hair that framed his beautifully pale skin, his chocolate brown orbs and bow-shaped lips, his lean body to his long legs.
He knows he’s the luckiest man on Earth the moment he knew the younger one.
“Ge, are you listening?”
He blinked and smiled at the smirk the younger one threw him, “Yeah… I’m listening.”
The younger one snort, “Yeah, right…”
It was happening too fast, too sudden, too unfair. They were talking, just laughing and giggling at nothing before a black car with tinted glass suddenly stopped right in front of the younger one, cutting their conversation. He watched as the younger one looked at the car oddly before his eyes widened and his snow-like face paled even more.
It was happening too fast-
“Baby?”
-too sudden-
“…Ge….”
-too unfair-
BANG!!
