How Did I Not Know???

Day 04:
  written: 2k
  goal: 2.8
  total: 11.5k

I had a really hard time getting started writing today and then I didn't make my goal. I am proud that even though I didn't make my goal I did write 2k. Any other year whenever I had a hard time writing I would just skip a day of writing and eventually have to write 4-5k on November 30. I'm doing really well. I can't believe it's only November 4th. Anyway, I think the reason I couldn't really getting into my story was because I'm sort of running on like 4 hours of sleep. I didn't remember about Daylight Savings. I always remember. Except this year. So, I try to go to church on Sundays. I go to the 9 o'clock service rather than 11 o'clock so I don't have time to come up with a host of excuses to why I really just can't go. I woke up at 8, had a quick shower, put water on for tea, and then turned on the weather channel. My first thought was hehe, their clock is wrong. By the time I made the connection, it was too late. I was already too awake to go back to sleep, so yeah. I don't like waking up earlier than I plan. I didn't get my extra hour of sleep. :( Anyway, that's my excuse for being too dead to write.

But something that helped me get out those 2 painful k was closing my eyes while typing. I saw something about it on the nano forums and adapted it for myself. I can't be trusted to just keep my eyes closed from sentence to sentence so I blindfolded myself, set a timer for about ten minutes and wrote. I wrote more words in those ten minutes than I do with eyes open. So, yeah, I'll try that again. Anyone else discover interesting tricks that help you write?
