Pacing

So I haven't posted about camp in awhile, but I'm doing all right. Probably the only reason I'm still on target is because I was ahead that first part of the week. I feel like my writing is always going to slow down on the weekend, because that's when I have to do things with the family. Nothing wrong with that, especially if I write a lot while they're busy. I've been trying to get to 15k since Wednesday, but I finally did yesterday

I'm kind of meh about my story right now. The pace is really slow and I think the problem is when I reread thick as blood the pace was way too fast. I could probably add another 10k to the story, slowing the pace down and developing these relationships that cropped up. I'm trying to cover my bases so that I can make it to 50k with bound by blood, but it's too much I think.

If I can just power through this latest chapter, the action will start. The enemy will reveal itself and my characters will scramble to survive. I'll worry about doing something to that boring bit when I edit, but I think I should write it for now, just to see what I want out of this chapter. Once I know what I want this chapter to do, I'll be able to possibly cut it and add those bits to other portions.

Day 09: 15k
Day 10: 17k

Goal: 30k by Day 13

Sidenote, my story now has zombies. Idk how that happened. I think the overreaching problem for the rest of the series will be to stop the zombies taking over their country. This used to be fantasy romance. Now it's fantasy politics and zombies with a romantic subplot.

2012, challenge: campnano, !shapeshifters!, !stopthezombies!, writing: goals, title: bound by blood
