GOD I HAVE TO UPDATE THIS THING AGAIN

It's been five weeks. My bad!

Regarding employment: I got a job at Culvers. I spent two days cleaning up after miserable wretches who think it's adorable when their children leave huge messes at the biggest tables that everyone wants to sit at. Then I was certified for sweeping? And since then I've been bringing food to people and awkwardly avoiding eye contact when it's someone I know. At the end of the day -- and they always put me on a shift at the end of the day, because they hate my brothers and are taking it out on me -- I take apart the custard machines and something invariably goes wrong for reasons that nobody bothers telling me.
Also, I start working at the shop downtown on the last day of August, which may or may not be the last day of summer. I don't actually know the school calendar. I should get around to learning that. I get to use the cash register and convince people to buy Norwegian sweaters! It should be pretty exciting. Between this and my prowess at taking things apart and spewing water all over the place, I will have an impressive array of marketable skills at my disposal.

Regarding socializing: I visit April sometimes when she isn't busy nearly dying. Liz's birthday shindig is tomorrow, and I'm going to that; also she occasionally comes over to eat my food and lie on the couch and talk about her future, while I listen politely and occasionally make snide remarks. There was a pool party last Monday, which was pretty fun because we all ran the risk of being struck by lightning; we then played some sort of card-based form of Truth or Dare, wherein I got the opportunity to critique everyone's outfits. Anna came over a few weeks ago and we ate meatball subs and watched animes. I saw The Dark Knight with Arpho and a slew of people I barely know. I sure am popular!

Regarding getting old: My birthday is exactly one week from today! I'm a lot more excited for this birthday than I was for my last one, but that may be due to the fact that I'm actually home for it this year. I'm also excited for gifts.

Regarding colleges: Not much else to report here. It's hard to make decisions on colleges when most of the ones from which you requested information haven't sent you any information whatsoever, even though you requested it like two months ago. Anyway! I registered for the ACT last night and my aim is a 32, because that's higher than what Liz got. I think this is a plausible score as long as I don't completely fail the math section.

Other stuff:
--I cleaned my room a few weeks ago AND IT'S STILL CLEAN. Even more, I cleaned out my dresser and closet and now I have three grocery bags full of unwanted clothing to avoid doing anything with.
--I won't say I've been drawing a lot, but moreso than usual for me, I guess, which is kind of cool if you happen to be the kind of person who likes my drawings.
--Orchestra pit practice starts on Monday. From 9 AM to 4 PM I will be playing musics, then wobbling home (because you can't really run with a cello on your back) and going to work until 10:30 PM. For four days next week, I will have literally no free time. Maybe an hour or so in the morning, but probably not. Jerks!

That is my summer. Once school starts I will write an essay about it. Coming September 2008: HIGH SCHOOL IV: THE FINAL CUT.
