Mac was pointedly avoiding anything and everything Parent's Weekend related. Her family weren't coming, so why should she deal with the hoardes of people? She was really pretty glad she didn't have her shift in the library today

Cassidy wasn't about to be spending he and Dick's already lacking funds on a school without making sure it was worth the tuition first. So he had been exploring the dorms while Dick was taking his second nap of the day.
When he came across Mac's room he stopped in front of the doorway for a moment to stare at Poe.
"Yes." Mac took a bit of a double-take when she saw Cassidy in her doorway, and paused her game. Only after getting herself killed, though.
Logically, she knew Dick would have someone turn up to Parent's Weekend. She just hadn't thought it would be someone she'd actually recognise. "Hi," she added, a little belatedly.
"Cool pet to inherit. I inherited a frog once." Cassidy said. "Well, okay, my brother threw it in my hair to scare me but I still consider it an inheritence."
"Does it have cool 'from outer space' powers?" he asked. He loved this weird Fandom stuff. "Or are lemmings just lemmings no matter what planet they're from?"
"Oh, they totally count. Adorable gets you far in the world." Cassidy said. He paused for a moment, noticing he had been standing in the doorway like a weirdo the whole time. "Can I come in?"
"Oh, uh, sure," Mac smiled and hopped up, using her foot to herd Poe towards the back of the room. He was liable to try and make a break for freedom (and his death on the stairs) if she didn't.
"You're here for the Parents Weekend, right?" she said, still not sure how much she should mention about knowing who he was.
"Uh, yeah. Visiting my brother." Cassidy said, coming into the room further. He thought Mac looked vaguely familiar but he couldn't really place her face. "You know Dick Casablancas?"
"It's crazy, the people here actually seem to like him and regard him as an upstanding citizen." Cassidy said, laughing a little. "Must be something in the water."
"People need to get the prescription on their personality glasses checked," Mac replied. "No offence," she added, remembering who it was she was talking to.
When he came across Mac's room he stopped in front of the doorway for a moment to stare at Poe.
"Is that a lemming?" he asked.

"I'm from Neptune," she added, feeling like she should at least get that out there.
