Vampire Fiction

I tried to run from him, to run from his looks, smell, and touch. Brody and I had been dating for three months, but in those three months, something happened to him. He changed, big time. Him and his family--who are all vampires-- had been having trouble with other vamps lately. Brody knew one of them. His name was Ellis.

I knew something was up with him. When Brody started hanging out with him that's when it all started that's when he started to change. It had started out with him not calling me like he used to. Then, his parents were calling my cell at two in the morning wondering if I knew where he was. The last time I had saw him, which was a couple weeks ago, he was dressed all in black. His face was paler and his eyes were a deep blood red. I was afraid of him. Afraid of the love of my life.

Tonight was a totally different story. I was in the park with a couple of my friends hanging out as usual. We did that every Friday night. They started asking me about Brody and I told them that I hadn't seen him in a while. They asked why and I said he'd been traveling with an old friend. "That's retarded! He should be hanging out with his girlfriend! A.K.A you," Anna told me.

"I know, but he's not like he used to be... Ever since he's caught up with this old friend of his he's been very different," I said tracing my finger around my cup of soda.

"Changing in what kind of way?" Jared asked.

"Like, he doesn't want to hang out with me as much as he used to want to and that sort of stuff..."

"Well, he's turning into a big jerk! I think you should break up with him," Tatum told me.

"I can't do that! I love him!"

"We know you do, but, still, if he's changing in a bad sort of way, it could turn very ugly," Liam said.

"Don't scare her like that!" Jared shouted. "Maybe he's going through a rough time with his friend. They haven't seen each other since when?"

A hundred years, I thought. But I really said, "Ten years."

"Yeah! If I hadn't seen one of you three in ten years, I think I'd be doing the same thing," Jared told them.

"I guess you're right..." Tatum said.

"Yeah, I think we'd all do that for each other..." Anna said.

"That's true," Liam said.

We were silent and that's when I heard the rustling in the bushes. "What the hell is that?" Liam said backing up towards his truck.

"I don't know," Jared said looking into the bushes cautiously.

I peered in with my eyes squinted to see better. "Ellis? Brody?" I said.

"Damn, they saw us..." They came out of the bushes. "Hey babe, what's up?" Brody said coming out of the bushes and coming towards me.

"N-Nothing," I said looking up into his still red eyes. "What are you doing here? I thought you were traveling with Ellis."

"What? Oh yeah, we just got back," he said. He smiled one of his cocky smiles. "We were going to jump out and surprise you guys but Liam saw us."

"Right," I said. I leaned across Brody to look at Ellis. He was looking at Anna like he was looking at his dinner. He had the same eyes as Brody. Instead of blonde hair, though, he had black hair that was cut close to his head. He had a darker complexion than Brody, but was still very pale.

"Yeah, we knew you'd be here to night, so we thought we'd drop by and catch a bite with you guys," Brody said.

"What are you doing?!" Anna said looking at Brody.

"Oh noth--" He started, but I cut him off.

"Hey, Jared, Anna, Tatum, Liam, you guys should get home. It's getting late and I don't want you to get in trouble again," I said.

I knew what would happen if they stayed: they would become Ellis' "bite to eat."

"Okay, are you coming?" Liam asked.

"Nah, I'll just hitch a ride with Brody and Ellis," I said.

They all looked at me with a touch of sadness. Then that all dissapeared. I got the "Okay" and "Whatever" responses.

They all jumped into Liam's truck. With the music up to full blast and them singing like idiots they sped off. "What the hell, Ellis!" I screamed jerking Brody off my shoulder.

"What? I'm starving!" He complained.

"I get it! But could you not eat my best friends?!"

"Lay off him. We haven't been able to find anyo--thing to eat..." Brody said.

"What were you going to say? Anyone? What have you two been up to?"

"Hunting," Brody said with a blank expression.

"What were you hunting?" He didn't answer. "Have you been eating humans? Your parents--when they find out they're gonna--"

"You're not telling them about this."

"Yes. I. Am."

I started to walk away when Ellis grabbed my arm. "We need to finish her off. You know that draining humans is illeagal!" Ellis said to Brody. I jerked my arm away and ran.

Yes, I was attempting to run from a vampire which id impossible to do. But I could hide. I needed to hide. I heard they're rushing footsteps behind me. I looked behind myself to see if they were catching up; I didn't see them. Then I ran into something big and hard. I fell to the ground. When I looked up, I saw Brody towering over me with blood thirsty eyes.

"You won't tell my parents," he growled.

"I am! Especially if you're killing people!" I screamed. I hadn't realized it, until Brody looked straight into my eyes, that I was crying. "I want my old Brody back..." I sobbed.

"I'm sorry." He jerked me up off the ground. In an instant his mouth was over my neck. I stood there frozen, not able to move. "I love you," he whispered in my ear.

"If you love me, why are you doing this?" I asked.

His body went rigid. He pulled back from me and looked into my eyes again. "I don't know..." He muttered.

He looked back at Ellis who was standing there watching the whole thing. "What are you doing?" He hissed. "Finish her, or I will!"

Brody looked back at me. "I'm sorry..." He muttered again. He bent down kissing me hard on the lips first and moving slowly down to my neck.

When he stopped he nuzzled me a little. I closed my eyes and braced myself for the pain that would soon tear through me. "I'm not going to do it," he whispered. He pulled back. "I couldn't go one day without seeing those beautiful blue eyes of yours. Or snuggling against the warmth of your body." He smiled at me.

He turned around to face Ellis once again. "You're going to betray me?" He chuckeled then got serious. "How dare you."

He ran at Brody with blinding speed. Brody did the same. When they collided it sounded like thunder in a summer storm. I couldn't keep up with the fight. I sat on the ground not taking my eyes of the blurry figures.

It took only minutes for it to be over, though. Brody had won. He later expalined to me that he had hit Ellis in the back of the head with a rock. I had to laugh at that. Brody did something that was si hard for him to do that night. He killed his best friend. He had to, to protect me, he told me. I didn't watch, but I could smell and hear the fire. When it was all over, Brody took me home.

"Will you be okay?" I asked in the car.

"Definitley," he said. He smiled at me. "I love you, Sara."

"I love you too, Brody."

We were silent the rest of the way home. My house was calm when I walked in. My parents were watching TV and relaxing. I went straight to my room. When I walked in I found a note on my bed.

I didn't know the handwriting. I opened it up and all it said was, "You will pay for killing Ellis."

So I know what you're all thinking, "Another vamp story? Ah, hell!" Well it turned out really well and I was happy! If you like it then comment. If you don't then don't comment! But I hope all of you do like it! I'll make more (since it's kind of a cliff hanger) if you guys like it! :) So please comment! ;)
