(no subject)
Hey everyone. It's been a loooong time since I updated! Actually there are exciting going-ons in my life lately. Today I was offered a job with Sykes Canada - another call centre job, but the difference is that it is an inbound centre, and I would be a formal employee as opposed to an agency employee with no job security. Guaranteed full-time hours and benefits as well. And the possibility for advancement, which straight-up doesn't exist here for an agency employee. The only negative? It doesn't pay near as well as TDCT does. However, considering the number of hours I'm getting here for the next few weeks (under 20/week) I'd do much better at Sykes. So I think I'm going to take the job at Sykes. I've actually had a couple of people tell me to definetly take it, despite the difference in wage. Also, the job doesn't start for another 5 weeks, and then there's 5 weeks of training. Crazy!
I also have a possible part-time job that I would be able to do from home, working for the London Golf Club doing paperwork, processing memberships, customer relations and that sort of thing. I'm meeting with one of the owners soon to discuss that possibility! Yay!
Denis is finally having responses to the multitude of resumes we've sent out, firstly from a paintball company, a factory job but it pays well. He has to do an aptitude test and a math test for that on Friday. Then, on the 22nd, he has a interview for a job that is actually in his field at UWO. It would be a year-long contract position as a technical something-or-other. Doing wiring, keeping a/v equipment up and running etc. Also pays well and sounds like a very interesting job.
On a more random note, while on the bus on the way to work today I saw two people walking on Richmond with FERRETS on leashes!! Crazy!!
