OK guys, I have a question for you.
What is your biggest regret in life?
I know we are only a short way into our lives, but everyone has regrets. Something you wish you had done but didn't have the nerve to, or something you did but in retrospect realize you shouldn't have done. So share it, big or small, life-altering or not. Or if you don't want to share your biggest regret, share a small one. And reflect on it a bit.
Here's mine:
I wish I had lived in residence in my first year of university. I would have met SO many more people, and become involved in so many more things (as opposed to pretty much nothing at UWO). I see how my sisters have met some of the coolest people in rez, and I'm infinetly jealous. I feel like I missed out on one of the biggest opportunities of my life.
However, I also realize that if I had lived in rez, I would probably be quite different today. Maybe I would never have started working at the golf course. Thus, I never would have met Denis. And I never would have come to adore golf as I do. Maybe I never would have gone out west (which, in comparison to my biggest regret in life, is probably the best thing I ever did for myself). Also, there are a lot of people at Western I see whom I really don't like, maybe I would have become one of those people.
Why didn't I live in rez? Partly to save money. Partly because I was a little wary of moving out, seeing as I was still getting used to the whole epilepsy thing. Most of my friends lived at home still, it seemed like the thing to do. Home was a lot closer to Cobble. I don't know the whole reason anymore.
So there you go. My big regret. A life-altering one, I think. But looking back, I like the person I am today. I'm glad to be close to my family. I'm glad to have Denis. I'm happy, most of the time. Life's going to be ok, despite any regrets I have. It's not like I can go back and change it, so I think I'm just going to let it go.
