Twenty Years Absent and a Blessing in Disguise

Oi! Do you realise it's Friday October 13? See in Europe they don't have to worry about that, because they just say, 13 October. Random Europe knowledge for you.

I got three and a half hours of sleep last night, because I was working on bloody english homework. There were supposedly seventy-six cognates I had to find between Gothic, Old Norse and Old English words. I'm sick of ye olde class. And this weekend my plan is was to work on my 1000 word English essay project due Monday. But this is turning into a complaint. I don't want it to turn it into a complaint, I am merely outlining my plans and lack there of, which just is another fancy way of complaining?

RIGHT! So... English got finished at 3:30am, then I went to bed and got up at 7:00. Grandpa and I are both sick with colds and so I feel crappy on top of being tired. Grandpa came back with a cold and I seeemed to have gotten one just in time for their return. But BOY! I gave Grandma this awesome chicken recipe for supper last night (I was originally going to make it) and it was delicious. The three of us talked for a while after we finished the meal. But where was I? Oh, yeah... so got up, made lunch, ate breakfast, dad was late to pick me up which was great. Got to school around 8:45, crashed on a couch and slept until 10:20 (I'm so glad I brought my ear plugs). Got up, headed upstairs and got ready for English. But this is where the good stuff comes.

While I was waiting for English class to get going, I started chatting with this elderly lady in my class. SHE seemed to know what was going on (she's one of the three that I mentioned in aother entry) and explained to me that our professor hadn't taught this course in twenty years, that he's a Shakespeare prof and that's why he's all over the place. THEN I asked her a question about the essay and she helped me. In a way that made sense. WTF?! THIS was the answer to all of my English problems. This wonderful woman right here. So I snagged her e-mail after class and she said I could e-mail her on the weekend if I got stuck. Yaaaay! I mean.... Heh! She didn't know I hadn't started the essay yet, but I think I pretty much hinted that I was still at the very beginning of the excersise. You see, my instructor doesn't check his e-mail on the weekends, so we can't contact him if we need him. So class ended and I feel a bit better because I'm going to meet this lady on Monday for help. Then came German.

German was okay, except new concepts were introduced which made me a little nervous, but on top of that we recieved a ton of homework. Oh great. So NOW I'm doing this homework so I can shove it out of the way and try to get back to English. I have to call Grandma and tell her I'm not coming home for supper tonight. It's funny how Grandma's house has turned into "home" for me. Oh... and did I mention the English homework that's due on Monday as well? The problem is.... I really want to sleep. I think after my German I'm going to take a stab at English homework and then sleep for a bit and work all night on my essay. I wish I had brought my laptop to school today. But back to sleep!!!

Oi. I have been going to bed sooo late lately. Except for Wednesday. I went to bed at 11:30, but didn't fall asleep until 1:30 (that was the last time I looked at the clock) and it was awful. So to make sure I don't fall asleep in class, I sleep for one hour at school and my body always wakes me up in time to get ready for either Psych or English. But of course, that doesn't help my sleep habits either and they're all jumbled up and it's not healthy. No wonder I'm sick. Let's hope I can pull a miracle together for next week and pass my Psych midterm (I'll only have three days to cram for it). One panic at a time, I know, but really I'm attempting to trick myself into thinking this is an outline. I think it's working because I'm abnormally calm right now. Or perhaps just too tired to care?

Off to call Grandma now. I'll let you kids know how I'm doing in an hour or two.
