A Weekend of Parties

May 14, 2006 22:25

Once more have not updated for ages, alas I have very little motivation for anything at the moment :(  Oh well, had a really great weekend so shall try and find the energy to type it all down... Friday was Adam's birthday (yay!) so I stayed up till about 1am on Thursday night trying to finish off the scrapbook I was giving him as part of his present.  Eventually got some sleep but I was only just up on Friday morning when I got a text saying that he was coming early so I had to rush like a loon to get ready. Once he arrived there was much present opening (I believe he was pleased with them) before school time.  Twas a pretty uneventful day, the most exciting thing being the jaunt up to Crosspool in p2 with Adam, Ned and Reno.  Sandwiches were purchased, along with a packet of fig rolls that myself and Ned polished off on the walk back :P
After school I nipped into town to get Debbie a birthday present before narrowly missing two buses and getting home with just enough time to get changed before being picked up to go for sushi! The restaurant was full of beautiful Japanese decorations with groovy manga-style placemats, all very cool.  It took a while to work out the menu (turned out it was starters on the front and mains on the back), but we practiced with chopsticks while we waited for food.  Couldn't go for japanese food and not have sushi, so I had a little platter of avacodo rolls to start.  Was very pretty, and yummy, and 100% veggie for those who didn't know :P  Next came a big bowl of noodles and veg which I ate using only chopsticks!  I'm so proud of that, hehe, took ages though :P

Saturday was the main Birthday Party, so I rushed home from work to create a rabbit out of cake.  I guess it sort of worked :P  Made a fun journey through the valley at any rate!  Didn't have much time after all the blowing up of balloons before people arrived for Dr Who, but everyone settled down to watch it and eat cakes quietly.  Afterwards it was a bit weird as nobody wanted to make the first move, but soon we were all drinking and being merry.  There's no point going into detail, go to Ringo if you want to see...
Next morning I made lots of toast (not all for me I hasten to add), took lots of Rosa-pics, and got home before midday (which I was rather pleased about).

A shower and some chemistry later I headed back to Ad's house for a "small family gathering".  Turned out there were a lot of people there, although he was just as surprised as me.  We stuck with the family, which was pretty fun.  I'd met all of them at least once before, and probably got on with them better than with my own relatives :P  Good job, as I'm going away for some of them in 6 weeks (God it sounds so soon).  Before long the photo albums came out, que lots of pics of baby Adam sporting anything from a Super-Ted costume to just a shower cap (teeheehee).  I got told off for not rooting out the 1st Birthday Video on Sat night, but unfortunately I had to go so couldn't enjoy it on Sun either.  Alas, but there will be more birthdays... *mwahahaha*

Anyway *collapse* So very tired...

ETA: Due to aforementioned tiredness, and general lazyness, I didn't get this entry officially posted until Thursday.  So nobody panic, thou eyes doth not decieveth thee :P
