Charity Week - Days 1 & 2

Mar 28, 2006 20:44

Yay!  Gotta love charity week :D  So far has been muchos fun... hard to take anything seriously when you're surrounded by an assortment of costumes, cameras and rattling buckets.

Monday was Doctors, Nurses and Vampires.  I was rather looking forward to this, having borrowed scrubs, mask, hat, gloves and stethascope from the vets last week.  Got quite paranoid on the way to school as nobody else seemed to be dressed up, but (obviously) they had :P  At break the study room contained a small army of lab-coat wearing "doctors", with a few others in scrubs, or as nurses.  Not to forget
mischa_craven, pretty much the only vampire in sight!

Period three was slightly chaotic as myself and Ads went to set-up stuff for the weakest teacher.  Despite a group of Y11 dancers in the hall, a lack of buckets, and only me knowing what we were doing, it all pretty much came together.  Paul was cutting it a bit fine, but did turn up and do all the sound effects, which was much appreciated.  Katie had no idea what she was doing (don't get me started on that), but her slightly nauseating over-confidance managed to pull it off, and I think she gave everyone a good laugh. All in all it went pretty well, the only major mishap being Mrs Bates..  who forgot to turn up!!  How very rude, she shall not hear the end of this for a long while..  Oh well, Mrs Bates or not, we raised a grand total of £141 :D

Tuesday was Chavs, Goths and Hippies.  The perfect excuse to raid the cupboards and pull out all the old goth-wear :D  Quite surprised at how many disproving looks I got on the way to and from school though, wearing fishnets and a short skirt does not make me a bad person!  At school most people seemed to have gone for the hippy look, although there were a surprising number of chavs and chavettes.  Admitedly some of these may not have dressed up (I couldn't tell), so I refrained from congratulating people on convincing costumes :P  Spent most of the morning taking photos of everyone, and decorating people.  Pete wasn't dressed up, so was given some felt-tip flowers on his cheek, and
axeman2002 can't say no, so was painted blue.  Mwahahaha :D

Anybody wishing to see/have photos - I'm gonna post them up here day by day, Monday's and Tuesdays are up now.  Actually I might just edit this post each day, we'll see.  Keep checking!
