Sam had watched the island get smaller and smaller, and eventually it was just ocean below them. It was a miracle she had survived, and truthfully she knew she owed it to Rusty more than she was willing to admit. His natural instincts had kept them safe more than a few times, which actually equated to her realizing that maybe he was a bit more competition then she was comfortable with.
When the helicopter finally made it to land she was wondering where exactly had they been. Once they hit the tarmac Sam spotted the Montecito private jet fueled and ready for take off. She was pretty sure that Sawyer didn't actually have transportation to anywhere, so it wasn't that big of a deal to bring him along with to Vegas. Stopping off at the flight control, she also made sure that the cooridinates of that cursed island were relayed to someone that could at least do something about it. One called in military favor, an entire rescue operation does not equal. Once she was sure they had all the facts she quickly made her way back to the jet, where the airport physician was checking on Sawyer's gunshot wound and Rusty was sound asleep in the first seat on the left.
The jet took off within twenty minutes once Sawyer's wound was redressed and the three of them rested the entire flight back to Vegas. An while into the flight Sam woke up and headed up to the pilot.
"Be landing within twenty Miss Marquez, and can I say it's good to have you back home."
Sam smiled at the pilot wishing she could remember his name and headed back toward Sawyer and Rusty. They looked so peaceful sleeping there, but she knew that they'd be up soon. Taking her seat she enjoyed the last few moments of silence and waited for the plane to land. The limo was waiting at the airport and with the twenty minute drive to the strip Sam was just happy to see the pyramid at the end of the row.
Pulling up she was greeted by Big Ed who hugged her until he got a whiff of her, "Sam. Shower. Change. Take the weekend off. I want you ready to work on Monday. Big trade show in town."
Some things just never changed. Pausing for a moment she knew Rusty was already going to be heading back to his hotel, so she turned to Sawyer. There was something she had realized once they were on the jet, but hadn't mentioned exactly yet. Sawyer was a survivor of a plane crash, a plane crash of Oceanic, who was in the middle of a large law suit with the family members of the victims. Sawyer here was in line for a rather large sum of money, once he made it known he was back. Sawyer was about to become Sam's newest client.
"Sawyer, I'm sure you've been through more than enough during your... two months was it?" She glanced to Rusty knowing full well he was already kicking himself for not thinking of it first. "I'd like to offer you one of our suites here at the Montecito compliments of the hotel here. We can extend a line of credit for you as well if you'd like, for any of your needs, such as clothing, or food. If you need anything?" She went to tell him to call, but realized that she didn't have a new phone yet. "Well if you need anything just come find me, and I'll make sure to take care of it... well as soon as I shower."
