Day three of being a girl, and though the novelty had, by this time, worn a little thin, Chuck hadn't yet entirely lost his patience with it. It could hardly last much longer, and he was still determined to embrace his policy of enjoying it while it lasted. To that end, he'd decided to make good use of some of the liquor that the island had ( Read more... )

The one thing that was likely going to stick with Chuck once this whole thing had ended was a new respect for girls who could wear high heels for longer than a few hours at a stretch without complaint. Fashion required sacrifice, he knew that, but he hadn't realized until they were on his feet what a special kind of torture heels truly were. He sat down in one of the chairs he'd brought up and took the opportunity to slip a foot out of the slingbacks the box had given him and massage the sole gingerly. Oh, well; at least he looked hot. Even if there was no one on the rooftop who appreciated it as much as he did at the moment.

Pulling up a chair beside Chuck, Serena eased back, crossing one leg over the other with a faint smirk. "Not as easy as it looks?" she asked, nodding to his feet. It took some getting used to, that was certain, but it was hardly surprising Chuck would want to go the full measure in this as in anything else.

"You could say I've gained a new respect for the lengths girls will go to," Chuck said, wincing as he slipped the shoe back on his foot. "Not that I didn't have a healthy amount already, but..." He shrugged.

"You know, it is a shame that this wasn't a one for all, all for one kind of arrangement," he said, sitting back in his chair and sizing her up briefly. "I would have liked to see the kind of guy you turned out to be."

"Thanks but I'll pass," Serena said wryly, shaking her head. Truth be told, she was a little curious about it herself, after having seen all of them changed. Somehow, though, she had a feeling that her being male wouldn't have gone over quite as well with Beat as his being female had gone with her - not that she hadn't wondered about that, too, and not that she was about to mention any of that to Chuck. Knowing him, he would have skipped past asking what had happened and gone right on to asking for details. "I think more than enough of us are dealing with it as it is. Besides, you would miss my being a girl."

Serena never could say no to a gathering of her friends, and the addition of Chuck's present didn't hurt either. The circumstances were stranger than usual, true, but after a few days, it was easy enough to deal with. She wasn't the one, after all, who had to handle a new set of parts. Having mixed herself a drink, she started wandering around to check on the others.

Eric was trying not to abandon Cassie for long periods of time, but he'd made sure she had a fresh drink and promised he'd return shortly before making his way to Serena's side with a drink of his own in his hand. "Hey."

"Hey," Serena said cheerfully, immediately more conscious of the drink in her hand and her intent to only have the one. In her way, she was grateful for it. There were still times she needed the reminder. "How's your friend doing?" With Beat so intent on keeping a low profile, she hadn't thought it necessary to bring him along tonight. He had enough to deal with, given this whole situation, without handling her friends right now.

"Cassie? She's...a bit weirded out, but she's doing okay, I think. A lot of her friends are changed too, and it sounds like things are kind of..." Tense? Awkward? "...You know. So I thought I'd bring her along so she could just relax and not worry about it for a bit." Eric glanced over to where Cassie stood, looking a little uncomfortable but at least smiling.

Aside from half of the people he knew being the opposite sex, Eric wasn't too fazed by the lastest island hijinks. And most of the people he knew that had been affected didn't seem terribly traumatized, so that was even better.

Still, there was nothing an Upper East Sider liked better than an excuse for a party, so when Chuck had mentioned it, he'd immediately agreed to attend, asking Cassie if she (well, he for the moment, but whatever) wanted to join them.

Which is how the two of them ended up on the roof, Eric trying not to stare at his friend too much, though it was hard to resist the urge to look for familiar features in the now masculine face.

Since she didn't know many people, Cassie had been sticking close to Eric. Normally, she'd be more social, but her new body was just not doing much for her attitude. Or really it was Kon's reaction to it.

But Eric had invited her to his friend's party, so for him she was going to try. She glanced over and noticed his look. Her eyebrows furrowed as she gave him a small smile. "Looking for something?"

Eric blushed faintly and shook his head. "Sorry. I just...would you like a drink?" He grinned, obviously changing the subject. The last thing Cassie needed right now was him reminding her of the situation, after all. "Chuck's got pretty much anything you could want."

She cocked her head curiously, then took a breath and relaxed. "Yeah. I'll take whatever your having." She trusted Eric's judgment at the moment. More then she trusted hers anyway.

When Eric had proposed the party to Cassie, she's accepted readily. She had to get away from the tree house. With Tim and Bart both creeping her out as girls and Kon not comfortable in the same room with her, Cassie was just growing depressed. She needed a change of pace.

Since she didn't know many of the UESers, Cassie stayed near Eric for most of the night though occasionally she strayed. Often, she'd find her way to stare at the alcohol, biting her lip as she fought the urge to try it. It seemed to make everyone around her feel better, except she was a superhero. A role model. Role models don't drink underage. But she was a also a girl in a boy's body and she needed all the help she could get.

So she debated whenever she had a spare moment: drink or no drink?

Nate was drunk and giggly. Very giggly. He couldn't hold his alcohol the same way he could as a man, not that he'd been trying to hold it tonight. He stumbled and fell into the other boy, having attempted a twirl mid-stride, and laughed when some sharp smelling alcohol spilled and slid into his cleavage.

"Oh no, oh no, I'm sorry!" he babbled. "I'm new to heels. And skirts. But they're fun!"

Even as boy, Cassie couldn't suppress her inner heroine. Her reflexes allowed her to only take a small step back and easily set the girl back on her feet. "Wow, are you alright?" She asked before making a face. "Heels and skirts are never fun. And I usually am a girl!" And oh did she hate them. They were more Cissie's thing. She as a tomboy through and through.

When he stopped to think about it, the whole experience of the last few days was odd enough to make Nate's head spin. So he was determinedly not thinking about it now, and any time he looked down at his own breasts (in a very cute dress) and felt dizzy, he refilled his glass.

He was well on his way to drunk before long, and stood in the middle of the rooftop, spinning in circles, getting light-headed and watching his skirt twirl around him as he giggled.
