HAPPY 20th ANNIVERSARY Back to the Future!!
20 years ago today (July 3rd) Back to the Future was released in theaters and introduced me to movies as I know it (it's the first movie I remember seeing in theaters ever). Lets all just take a moment to commemorate the masterpeice that is Back to the Future.
Now, on to updates,
Rest of Tuesday - Think I pretty much just sat around all day. Played videogames and watched TV, then went out to JDs with Dan and
p0sat1.
Wednesday - Finally got a hold of Andrew, and found out I wouldn't be getting a new video until the following week, so more videogames and watched some movies. Got bored and decided to read my
old journal. It's really cool to know that I have the past 2 years of my life all on record, and can go back and see what I was doing on any given day and relive the memories, but it was wierd to go back and read that shit and see how depressed I was and how much I drank. It seemed every entry (which I did every day or 2 back then) was about me going to a friends house or out with friends to go drinking. I seriously was drunk more nights a week than I was sober. Pathetic I says, PATHETIC.
Thursday - Same thing, videogames and TV, then started a Tim Burton marathon (Sleepy Hollow, Batman, and Batman Returns), then got sleepy and went to bed.
Friday - Videogames and continued my Tim Burton marathon (Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and Ed Wood). Jennie got here and we went to Uno's (EEEEWWWWW) with my Dad. He had never been, plus he wanted to go cheer up my sister since Austin is a dick and broke up with her because "he doesn't want to deal with the distance and shit while he's in Iraq" or something like that. And he's even more of a dick because he does this right after the cruise they went on (which my sister paid for) and after 3 years of dating he dumped her over the phone. Anyways, after dinner the 3 of us went to see War of the Worlds. It started off really good then got kind of boring and dragged on. I went expecting an entertaining aliens blowing up the earth type movie, not a masterpeice of a film so I was happy with it. I knew it wasn't going to be anything incredible so I wasn't dissapointed. After that was home and bed.
Saturday/the 2 hours its been Sunday - Woke up and headed down to EB. I had been playing my CSI videogame this week and beat the first game on there (it's the 2 PC games on one disc for xbox) and started the second and got stuck, I checked the guide for it online and the game wouldn't let me do what I had to do, so I looked up some info and apparently a lot of people had the same problem, there's some sort of glitch in it where it won't let you ask a suspect a question, which in turn would give you a warrant for a location, and without that you can't continue. So add to that the fact that there was no challenge to the game and it was getting kind of repetitive and boring and has NO replay value I decided to trade it in. So, down to EB, I got $10 for it, as well as traded in Mega Man Legends and Mega Man Legends 2, which I got $3 for. They were old games for playstation, the first one, not PS2, so I wasn't expecting much. They were really good games, I had rented them when they first came out, then had a friend get me them as Christmas presents a few years later so I coudl replay them, so I went to play them again and the controls and graphics and game play was such shit I just couldn't get into them, so they've just been sitting on my shelf for about 3 years collecting dust. Hell, the 2nd one wasn't even opened yet. So trading those in plus another $10 got me Still Life another CSI type game (crime solving point and click, but with more puzzles and more challenging) and I also picked up my Destroy All Humans! promotional window poster that my friend saved for me, which is like 5' x 3'. It's awesome.
After that we went to Blockbuster Video to rent The Jacket, but also ended up getting Hitch, The Life Aquatic, and Team America. Then it was off to publix to get groceries since we have no food in my house (seriously, all we had was ramen noodles, spaghetti, and random frozen meat that is almost a year old). Got home and watched Hitch which is actually a lot better than expected. Kind of predictable, semi-typical romantic comedy, but had some HILARIOUS parts (mostly from Kevin James). When that was over Jennie made an AMAZING dinner of sausage and peppers for my family. She did a wonderful job, shit was sooooo good. Then we fucked around on the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory website, including downloading bad ass ringtones. Then my Dad, Jennie, and I sat down to watch The Life Aquatic, after about 30 minutes we turned it off, as it was so insanely boring, and put on Team America, which was stupidly hilarious. I loved it and will most likely be purchasing it one day. By then it was 11:30ish so Jennie and I laid down and watched some TV and now she's asleep and, in my usual fashion, can not sleep for shit. Gonna fuck around online for a few more minutes, then try to go to bed.
Oh yeah, I also found out that Sean Astin has been added to the Lord of the Rings convention I'm going to in August. I so can't wait.
