Okie dokie well a lot went on this weekend so i'm going to do bullet points:
- Senior High Youth Group Lock-in....failure? Success? drumroll....SUCCESS!!! Yes, although only 7 kids it was still really good and fun! They loved the digital dash (scavenger hunt/road rally), already we're discussing how we can make the next one even better! We did have two injuries...both to the big toes of the two boys, within 5 minutes of each other, thank goodness for my first-aid kit, and for the glove from my first-aid and CPR class....somehow i only had 3 gloves in my bag....i'll be refiling that soon.
- My nieces came over on Saturday, that was fun although i was tired. They got here at about 10:45, and stayed till 6:15pm so that was cool. Megan therefore had to take her nap but since we didn't have the play-pen set up for her to take a nap in it and she wasn't falling asleep on her own I took the job as being her bumper pads so she didn't fall off my bed. AKA Megan and I took a nap together! That was the best part of my weekend...because I knew that when I woke up my nieces would still be at our house because I had one next to me on the bed.
- Sunday morning i was back at the church at 8am to make Subs for our Superbowl fundraiser Sub Sale....we made $900.00 on this fundraiser!!!! That is AWESOME!!!!!!! Plus we're going to get Thrivent to match half of that, so total we'll have $1,350.00 profit from this one fundraiser! Now onto selling Cookie Dough (now-Feb.28) and doing a Potbelly Fundraiser(Feb. 22). Hopefully we'll get a bottle and can drive in next weekend, that'd be cool....cuz that'd be MORE money!!!!!!
- This weekend we not only had fun, did the sub fundraiser but we ALSO raised money for a good cause! We raised $579.90 for Souperbowl of Caring...kids all across America collect money on Superbowl Sunday and report it into the organization who runs this (souperbowl.org is their website), but then each group decides on their own where they want to put the money towards, we always donate our money that we raise to Gleaner's Community Food Bank in Detroit. I just checked the website and $1,645,757.47 was raised thus far.
- To end the weekend I watched the Superbowl with my parents but more just for the commercials, which my favorite one was the diet pepsi stunt double...but other than that majority of them were just stupid.
That's all from me...tata!
