Faith didn’t do attached. She didn’t do clingy. That was just one of the many ways Sam was perfect.
He didn’t care if she banged other guys, he didn’t even really care if she banged him. He was more than welcome to participate, and boy did he know how to participate. She’d never met someone who wasn’t afraid to fight back, to get a little rough. Then again, she’d never met someone who wasn’t afraid of anything at all.
Sam wasn’t anything more than a friend. She couldn’t be, because Sam didn’t care. Hell, she wasn’t even sure she was a friend most days, but he had her back on the road, and that was enough for her. She wasn’t so lucky, though. Eventually she actually started to care, and when she knocked on Bobby’s door and it was answered by a blank stare, she was more than a little annoyed.
“Can I help you?”
“Sam, it’s me.” She waited for a minute for him to connect the dots. “Faith?”
“Sorry,” he frowned. “Have we met?”
There was a flash of Dean over Sam’s shoulder, making a face at her, and drawing his hand across his neck. It took her a second to connect the dots regarding Sam’s memory loss, but once she did, it was all too clear. Dean did what he threatened he’d do, and now Faith was a non-issue. Well, if the jackass didn’t want her around, fine. She had an elsewhere to be.
“Apparently not.”
“Oh-kay,” Sam frowned, before looking back at his brother as Faith started to storm off. She heard Dean moving behind her. His hand landed on her shoulder, and she spun around, slamming her fist into his face.
“Fuck you, Dean,” she snapped. She knew that this was his fault. He shoved a soul down Sam’s gullet that he didn’t want and now Faith was left to clean up the mess that was left behind. “Don’t follow me.”
As she stalked off, she could hear Sam catching up with his brother, and the incredulousness in his voice.
“Who the hell was that?”
“A really long story.”
