[Hells bells, here he was finally starting to get some sleep after days of fitful unrest and investigating. When he was fianlly starting to be able to close his eyes and not see the massacred bodies of those two women. Stop seeing all the blood and the glassy, lifeless eyes staring blankly out into nothing from decapitated heads.]

Bit late for the management to finally speak up. What are you going to do about catching this guy or... guys.

We are obtaining information where we can. This horror will not go in silence.

Where you can? I guess this doesn't involve any detailing of the crime scene since I've been there several times and have never seen any official looking-types around either.

Forgive me, Mr. Dresden- our ways are a bit different from the ones you are familiar with in your own time when you were asleep. But if you wish to assist or aid us where you are able, your efforts would be highly appreciated.

I'm all for cooperating with authorities when its worthwhile.

Then consider it worthwhile, if you wouldn't mind sparing a few moments of your time. Anything you can recall and anything you remember would be of utmost importance.

[And thus, Harry trundles off for his notes. With a mental command of Flickum Bicus the candles in his room twinkle to life.]

Right. First victim: Female, nicknamed Lior, around 4"11'. Seemingly young adult dark elf female. Position of body indicates that she was kneeling and the perp got her from behind. Almost no sign of struggle and no defensive wounds on the victim, either she knew the perp or he snuck up on her. The wound indicates a straight edged blade. The cut is clean and in one stroke, also indicating that the culprit possesses some amount of strength. Footprints found near the scene do not match the victim's shoe size and indicate someone of a smaller stature, I'd guess under 5"6'. There were traces of magic at the scene, but nothing I could really identify. Attempts to track blood of the victim to another location was fouled by some sort of erasing magic, or that the weapons have already been cleaned ( ... )

[Congrats, Harry. You are falling into good favor with the King.]

Understood. I am grateful for what you have uncovered, Mr. Dresden. This will help immensely where we have not covered. Should you feel the need to contact me for future information or questions, do not hesitate. However, note that I shall only be reachable during the night. The Queen will be the one to answer during the day.

[Honestly, Harry couldnt give two shits about the King's favor. He just wants the person that would murder two innocent women in cold blood caught and put in a place where they can't harm anyone again.]

One thing I cant piece together yet is the possible motive. No robbery, no extraneous wounds, no signs of sexual assault. Just run in, kill, and leave. A medieval drive by. The victims don't seem to be connected aside from the fact that they're women and posses some deal of magic. Its almost perfectly random.

Not all murderers possess points or tact in their killings, unfortunately. It is regretful and shameful, and something we will be putting our best resources out to, to make sure we find who did this.

But every crime has a motive. People just dont kill for the sake of killing, there's always a reason. The question is what is the possible reason behind these killings.

Finding the motive is what now becomes the question as well as finding the culprit. I see- there must be a purpose for it.

Pretty much.

I'm willing to work with you, sir, and I understand that these girls will be back...?

[Not that ressurection magic isn't a massive taboo where he comes from, no siree.]

That isn't any of your concern.

I think a serial killer on the loose is everyone's concern.
