[Unlike the rapid and stilted way he talks during the day, the thoughts broadcast by N's PORTAL are measured and clear (if at times accompanied by seemingly random images of his Pokémon friends). This is a way he's more comfortable communicating.]

Hello, my name is N Harmonia. I have some questions. [Akito had given him some good ideas for what ( Read more... )

A pokémon club? Count me in!! I can teach everyone how to brush a Sharpedo's teeth without losing a hand! It's a pretty important skill.

As for love, well, I don't know about any of that.

I'm so glad you'd like to join, Harper! So far Akito and I are going to be there, but we want to see how many people will be joining before we decide where to meet.

That does sound useful to learn. I'd like to meet the rest of your Pokémon friends as well.

Romantic love is a very complicated matter, I am coming to learn. I don't believe I understand it any better for having asked.

Hmmm... I bet Dawn and Touya will want to join, too. The more the merrier!

Of course! I'll bring them all! We'll see if I can get Flieger to sit still long enough to meet people.

Hmm.... I think it's something you have to find out on your own, maybe?

Yes, Dawn and Touya. [N looks sad for a moment. He still has confused feelings about Touya, but Touya seems to accept him without hesitation.] I hope they will both come. More would be better, so we'd have more viewpoints and more experiences to share.

That would be wonderful. I'll bring all my friends as well. I'm sure they'll enjoy playing with each other.

I believe that must be true. I have been given much to consider. I will have to take my time to determine the truth in my own heart.

Exactly! Plus they seem nice. [an affirmative nod!]

Keh! Definitely! Rocky, especially. He's just a baby, so he can play like CRAZY!

You're a pretty smart guy, N.

Touya is my most important person. [He remembers Akito using that phrase. He'd liked it.]

Perhaps Rocky would enjoy meeting Pidove. He's a baby as well, and he loves playing with everyone, at all times.

Thank you, Harper. I am not sure if I am. I am trying my best to understand everything. Many things remain a mystery to me, but I have already learned so much.

[staring for a second] .... Touya is your boyfriend? [HER FIRST THOUGHT.]

Rocky is an aerodactyl, so they'll have to play carefully!!

Well, see, part of being really smart means you understand you don't know everything.

[N heard Bowen use the term "girlfriend", and he took it to mean that it was a special friend who was a girl. He still doesn't understand the need for a distinction. Or the entire concept. Unfortunately.] Yes, that's right. [He smiles.]

Pidove is much smaller, but he's very swift and sure. He's played with Reshiram, so he's used to interacting with much larger Pokémon.

That is true. I think I only began to grow wise once I realized how much I did not know.

Aaaahhh! That's so cute! I'm so happy for you! Having someone like that is so fun. Or so I hear. Dino tells me about it. You should do something nice together.

Well ok! No problem then! Pidove can always fly away, too. Rocky can't fly yet. He can glide though! And flop around.

Thank you, Harper. We should? [At this, N is thoughtful.] We haven't done a great deal together since I arrived here, though we met at the beach party. Back home, when we last saw each other, we parted, as I was going to travel the world. I hadn't expected to see him again so soon.

Pidove's a good flier. Sometimes he loses his way a little, but he's very strong. [His friend doesn't have the best sense of direction, but N believes in him.]

Oh, that's sad. You should spend a lot of time with him! Maybe get dinner or something?

That's good! Maybe he can teach Rocky. ... Or maybe that's not such a good idea. That little rockhead gets in enough trouble on the ground.

We had a disagreement. I admitted I was wrong, and he forgave me, but sometimes I'm not sure what to say to him. It's a new feeling for me. I've never had this difficulty before. [Even though N can still talk to Touya, technically, that feeling is a novel one for him. He's not used to any uncertainty. It doesn't help that he has so little experience talking with "ordinary" people in the first place.]

It might be good for Rocky to learn. Perhaps flying will make him feel like an adult and teach him new responsibility. There's so much to bear in mind, about air currents and weather.

Well, taking him to dinner is a great way to make amends! Or you know, hang out and play video games or something, you know?

You think so? Maybe! Since he's a prehistoric Pokémon, no one I've talked to really knows how the heck baby aerodactyl work.

Dinner. [He's never taken someone to dinner before. The only eating establishment N knows--or has ever been to--is where he went to eat pie with Anna.] I will try dinner, I am not sure where we should go to eat. Thank you for the suggestion.

That is a concern, but since he is a natural flier, I think it would come naturally to him. Most Pokémon learn their inborn abilities when they are ready. The time they take varies not only from species to species, but also from individual to individual, as each Pokémon is unique. Maybe Pidove could even help. He's very talkative and friendly.

Anywhere you think would be good! Maybe even just coffee. Something nice like that, you know? Awww... so cute. [Love is such a precious thing!]

They'll have to have a playdate, then. Because I want Rocky to grow up and be tough, you know? Like a proper aerodactyl should be! Charcoal is doing a good job of mothering him, but I think she's a little soft.

I'll do that, then! [N isn't completely sure why Harper thinks it's particularly cute--but friendship is a wonderful thing, isn't it? It should be appreciated. That makes sense.]

I understand what you mean, but Pidove is not what I would call tough. Zoroark is, if Rocky is in need of some coaching. Zoroark is even stern with me sometimes. He has very strong opinions.
