I have not entirely mastered any way of filtering this so many of you may feel free to skip this.  Also, I do not know those who would number among Lioriley's friends and I must speak with all of you via this means.  To those who do not know me but know her, I am Veles, her teacher and her guardian of sorts; a polite young troll named Nepeta gave a ( Read more... )

I have known her longer than many of you have been alive. It is so you are prepared if she ever does such a thing as she can be very convincing.

It is unhealthy for her. You do not know her as I do; once when she fought she damn near killed herself. She takes everything to an extreme, especially if it concerns putting others before herself.

[Well he expected that. Have a big toothy dragony smile Lioriley.]

No argument I trust? You do not inform me of all your various acquaintances, it was why I had to resort to such a drastic measure.

[ if she wasn't a pacifist she'd punch you in your stupid dragon face. ]

Did you really have to tell everyone, Veles?

You have not seen fit to provide me with a full list of your friends yet. I would have filtered it but I did not wish to leave anyone out, you know how I like to be thorough.

[Your attention was brought to this LARGE PARAGRAPHED TEXT due to the account it mentions SOMEONE YOU HAVE MET during your stay here in PROMENADE. There is a lot of INFORMATION here told that you did not know about her, some information that ought to be PRIVATE you think. Also to be told at her own leisure. You feel sorta bad for reading all of this. It's one thing when you can RELATE TO HER as brought to her HAPPY AND CHEERFUL attitude.

Instead of responding to the text, you have SOMETHING ELSE IN MIND as what to do.]

Hey, wait, that's not fair! Sometimes pretending to be happy can help you actually be happy!

[Oh, it's a person he has not met before. Allow him to stare with a typical dragon's disregard for their words, especially if they look human.]

That is absolute idiocy.

[ that's a bit of frustration growing in his words. ]

No, it's not! And... I know it sounds weird. But--I know it can work.

If you wish to comfort yourself with blatant lies then so be it. But it will not serve you well, to pretend all is well when it is not. Those close to you will inevitably find out and will most likely be hurt by lies - humans are so susceptible to bruised feelings - and may not trust you. How are they to know then when you are telling them falsehoods and when you are telling them truths? The seed of doubt, once sown, shoots up like a weed.

[Okay, maybe Kyle's only known her for a little bit, and this guy is her teacher/protector (and hi dragon this is a bit ... new - times like this he's glad he's in the whole intergalactic peacemaker/space cop business) -]

Different people have different ways of coping with the loss of someone they care about. I know it's frustrating, and believe me, I've ... done the same thing, but sometimes it's just best to let them figure out things on their own.

[Veles is so beyond used to people needing a moment when they see him now that he doesn't even care anymore unless they're rude but they generally have the good sense to be civil at least for the first encounter.]

Is today some holiday of idiotic statements I have not been informed about?

Not that I know of.

Look, I know you're worried about her - that much is obvious. And yes, people are prone to doing stupid things when something like this happens, but at the same time - shouldn't you have enough faith in her to work through this?

If you could see into the future of a friend - look at this hypothetically if you do not have such a friend - and see their decisions would you have faith in them? If you remembered their past deeds with absolute crystalline clarity would you have faith? If a place such as this held such unknown qualities that bring out the less savoury sides of their nature would you have faith?

[Dragon rhetoric is beautiful.]
