[This is Eden in her bedroom at house nine. She is lying in bed, her portal pointed at the mobile that she acquired from the market as it hangs above her. It turns lazily in the breeze from the open window, feathers twirling, bones clicking against one another, hollow and musical.

Eden's voice is soft, distant and thoughtful,]

I think I sleep better here, I wonder why that is. I am afraid if I linger on it too long, I will incur myself a jinx.

[She turns the portal around to point at her, her dark hair spread haphazardly on the pillows beneath her. She is inside, so she wears no mask, dark eyes fully visible and large in her pale, delicate face.]

But I wonder if it is the people. They're forbidden to speak to us on the Hill, they can barely meet our eyes, and that is right, they are pigs. [She stares back up at the mobile. Silent before she aids,] Perhaps I sleep better because the Melusine is not wailing in the night. It is so very silent here in the night, but I suppose that is beautiful, in its own way.

[She goes silent again, still watching the hanging decoration above her. She is daydreaming again, had been holding the portal above her with her arms straight, but it slowly comes to rest on her collarbones, forgotten. She wakes up from her dream, eventually, lifting her head,]

Sebastian. I have had a thought. Please come to me.
