In the middle are two figures who don’t fit the royalty’s height or caliber, but it’s not like that matters to them. You can hear their talking as the feed listens in ( Read more... )

[Sigh.] I had thought the princes of this city might conduct themselves in a manner more befitting of royalty during their public appearances.

Perhaps next time I'll not be mistaken.

Well it's not like we knew we were appearing publicly.

[ Speaking of men with sticks up their asses... ]

For some portion of your message, however unintentionally it may have been initiated, it seemed that you did.

Yeah, but it'd be a bit stupid to just stop acting normally. [ Besides, Frederick started it. ]

Why should that be so?

la_jeunelune May 26 2011, 07:47:02 UTC
Well first of all, people should know that we're pretty normal and we can be talked to, and automatically acting different as soon as we're in public won't help them think that, or help them trust us.

Yet the public ought to already have such trust in their rulers, should they not?

[His tone may be the slightest hint of challenge in it.]

[ Oh no you didn't. ]

Yeah, they should. But there are a lot of new residents here, and most of them don't have their memories back, so they're scared. We're easy targets for them to put the blame on, since we're in a position of authority.

[Gabranth isn't sure he follows part of that.] Forgive me, but which memories do you mean, precisely?

la_jeunelune May 27 2011, 05:46:29 UTC
The memories from when you were here before, of course.

Relax, Toasterface. It's not like Mom and Dad are going to scold us on being normal. We know how to handle ourselves.

[He's going to go ahead and ignore that little nickname, just by virtue of whose kids these are.] I would hope that you do.

[What, you don't like it, Toasterface? B)] We were trained to follow after our parents, so you shouldn't be worried.

I am more inclined to reserve my concern for far more pressing matters, so that does offer me some relief.

[Using such sarcasm with royalty doesn't strike Gabranth as particularly wise, but he sees little other choice in this conversation. His authority in Archadia means naught here, after all.]

See? Good! Go focus on other stuff, and let us do our own thing.

[Using sarcasm? You are talking to the royal sons of sarcasm and snark. You'd best watch out Gabranth.]
