02 - accidental video | day (backdated to a couple of days ago)
[Kurt is sitting at the piano in the McKinley choir room (which just so happens to be his place of solace) pressing random keys and looking a little down. He doesn't realize his PORTAL is broadcasting when he starts playing the chorus to Cee-Lo's F*ck You (particularly this cover of it) and humming along. It's very perky and it actually makes him feel better about certain things.
He laughs softly and shakes his head before rifling through the songbooks on the piano. There was a lot of Journey sheet music. A lot. Mr. Shuester would be pleased. Skipping over that, he finds, to his surprise, an Amy Winehouse songbook. She certainly isn't a favorite of his, but it's better than has-been 80's rock and he couldn't find a good Broadway songbook to save his life. The Powers That Be must really hate him right now. Still, he props the book open to a song that seems moderately appropriate and starts playing, singing along when it's his cue.
He only falters a little when he comes to this verse:]
His message was brutal but the delivery was kind
[He stops playing for a second, but he makes himself continue.]
Maybe if I get this down I'll get it off my mind
And it serves to condition me and smoothen my kinks
Despite my frustration for the way that he thinks
[Kurt lets the music fade away after that, actually feeling a little irritated at the lyrics. This singing session didn't help at all.]
Next time I'm sticking to Broadway.
