...I can post about wedding things?
Just a post for friends online who might be watching this journal; not everyone in fandom's all in the same places and I've been squeeing so much on Twitter and elsewhere but not here.
Anyway, so, at the end of June my SO of 12 years proposed to me, at the end of one of my work shifts, and I accepted. It was something I had hoped for when we got together, and then we kind of stopped talking about it for a long while, and then, well, imagine my surprise, right?
We're planning to get married next year, on our 13th anniversary, which is luckily a Friday.
After that proposal we had to discuss the topic of getting rings. He was initially apprehensive because of a very practical reason. For a while there I was a target for theft - got mugged a couple of times, got stuff snatched away from me while I was wearing/using them. And he naturally was not keen on the idea of me wearing something that could invite temptation.
And this is why our wedding rings look like this:
Titanium with inlaid yellow gold. One tiny diamond apiece, on the inside of the band.
And, just as an extra, I was fooling around online and I found this really pretty dress that I'd like to have made for when we show up in front of the judge and sign our papers.
Christian Dior's "Chérie" dress from the 1947 S/S collection. I'd like to have it in TARDIS blue :D
