The Best of '07
Hey ya'll so before I leave on my cruise and don't officially get back til 2008 I thought I would grace you guys with a list of my top five movies of the year. I think you will agree that they kind of rock.
5. The Bourne Ultimatum - I am def not one for action flicks but I love all the Bourne movies. They are so well done IMO. Anyway, I thought the third in the trilogy was prob the best and I seriously just can't get over how good it is.
4. P.S. I Love You - As you probably know, I am the world's biggest sucker for romantic comedies and the reviews were right when they said this was the best one in a long time. It has a ton of substance and is so well acted and written. The cast was perfect and it just totally my kind of movie.
3. The Savages - Tamara Jenkins is amazing and Laura Linney and Phillip Seymour Hoffman define what Oscars are made of. I had been anticipating this movie for over a year and was unbelievably psyched that I got to go to the LA premiere of the film. This movie is not for everyone but it is heartbreaking and hilarious at the same time which in my opinion is a wonderful and rare combination!
2. Hairspray - Okay, I seriously cannot watch this movie without smiling. It is impossible. I mean it is the epitome of commercial but it was by far the funnest movie I have seen in a long time. John Travolta in a dress kinda freaked me out but he totally committed to it so, it was enjoyable. Queen Latifah and Amanda Bynes were great but Nikki Blonsky totally stole the show. To think a little over a year ago the girl was scooping ice cream at Cold Stone is totally crazy. I always love those kind of stories and the girl deserves all the fame she is getting.
1. Juno - I seriously like wanted to pinch myself when I saw this movie - it was amazing and Diablo Cody (the screenwriter) is my new hero. As well as Ellen Page, who should totally win the Golden Globe and if she gets an Oscar too that is fine by me. Such a refreshing and original film a lot like my fave from last year - Little Miss Sunshine.
