Just a simple update.
Hannah's taken to avoiding me. That's fine as far as I'm concerned. Not having to put up with her crap all the time is a welcome change to my life. It leaves me with less stress and more time to focus on the things that are actually important to me. I've tried persuading my parents to send her to see a therapist, but so far I haven't seen any sort of commitment to the idea. They're still talking about boot camp, which I'm urging them to use as a last resort, not a first one. They think she's depressed about something and is manifesting it with anger. I don't think she has anything to be depressed about and is simply just a spoiled brat. Then again, that's my opinion. Things that wouldn't bother me might still bother her. To state the obvious, she isn't anywhere near as level-headed as I am.
In much better news, Austin just got a scholarship that will pay for the rest of his college AND reimburse him for the tuition he's already paid. It is, in a word, brilliant. Meanwhile, he gets to keep the scholarship that he already won, so he's going to use that for books and things. Right now, he's probably the luckiest person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He came over yesterday and told me the news which lead to two very happy people and [scene missing]. Then my parents took us out to dinner because they didn't know what to do for food. We went to that French creperie out on Hawthorne...Chez Machin I think it's called. Great crepes. I had the Citron et Sucre one. Mmmmmmm, tasty. And then I got to have the crème brûlée because I'd never had it before and I wanted to smack something. It was fun! Then we all went home while talking philosophically about whether or not competition is endemic to human nature. Philosophical conversations are always the best because they're fun (provided people keep their emotions out of their arguments) and can go on forever. Austin and I got to snuggle a bit more and then he headed home.
Next weekend I'm spending Saturday with my father for the first time sine the 23rd of December. Austin might be coming along, depending on his work schedule. He wants to meet dad sometime before this summer. It won't be the end of the world if he can't come...but spending a day with my father by myself...not something I look forward to. I called him and he said he didn't have any sort of ideas for what to do. I don't have anything either, so one of us had better come up with something or else we'll end up spending the day sitting around watching TV. That's TOTALLY what I want to be doing.
Alright, a little less than an hour until they're supposed to be coming back. Steve's going to be watching the kids for the rest of the evening while Janet and Joanna go and see a movie. Meh, I dun care. I get paid and I get to go back early and play Jade Empire. It's fun, whee!
Wuv you all! <333
