I've applied for ownership of a local dog and hopefully will be approved (crossing fingers). I hope to have my dog soon. I'm going to be training my own service dog

I was so frustrated with this 3-year wait crap! Hubby talked to the landlady at my urging (she loves him) and sweet talked her into allowing us to get a dog that was housebroken but not yet finished his training. She was really hesitant but when she heard it was a 3-year wait her soft heart took over and she agreed, saying that if it meant I could be helped sooner of course she'd allow it. OMG I love my landlady. Doris ROCKS! ::cheer::
Now I have to see if my application passes muster with the animal rescue organization. There's a gorgeous black Lab that was owner surrendered (foreclosure I think, had to move to a small apartment) and he's only about 2 years old, so he's out of the destructive puppy stage but young enough that I can teach him more easily because there are fewer behaviors to correct. He already has basic commands like sit and stay, and they say he's bright and very eager to please, so hopefully this dog will work out.
I'm seriously crossing fingers over this. I want it to work out SO BADLY. ::dies a little::
