Geeks, freaks and perverts (because I know my own kind)

A slightly oddball weekend, free from significant trashbagging and filled with more relaxation than normal.

Friday heralded Hellfire for the first time in months; lots of talking outside, smoking too much, loud curvacious women (the best kind), people I've apparently met but don't remember and a crazy lady who insisted that my fondness for her bouncing was dishonesty and kept insisting I be truthful with her until her partner dragged her off. It was all very odd until I overheard them bickering about how she'd "dressed up in *these clothes* and come to *this place*" for her partner, if you're not comfortable going to a fetish club, just don't go, don't unleash your head crazies on me.

Saturday I spent much of the day in the hairdresser, nothing fancy just a refresh of the previous cut/colour. I did get to spend much of the time reading Hackers by Steven Levy; it reads much like the Nerds 2.0.1 documentary by Robert Cringely but with more focus on the developers of the tech world than the business pioneers. Nonetheless it reads well if you're of a geeky persuasion and I'm tempted to order in the rest of his books though having discovered that he's voraciously and publicly anti Apple/Mac I might see just how offensive I find his position on later computing first.

After returning home I managed to fall asleep for about 4 hours before waking up and realising I had no plans. A quick check of others heralded little so I invited Das Boy over, half an hour after which the texts and calls for offers of fun began to pour in. We ended up going out for coffee and then joining a gaggle at the Marly before heading home to nerd and sleep.

Sunday was quietly domestic, tiring but necessary. A late rise and then off to Urban Bites for brunch with statichowl, mrslaad and Dave (LJ Unknown). Rachel and I quickly discovered that our calorie counting efforts have rendered our ability to eat an entire meal from UB impossible and so we waddled to Broadway to do the shopping having only eaten half the food. The shopping took far too long and it was dinner time by the time we got home. The rest of the night was a combination of chores and terrible TV of awesomeness. I have to post the Tuna Mornay recipe for Rachel however the problem with it is it tastes awesome but looks... less than ideal.
