In my world "quiet" means I slept each night, ate a proper meal and had no hangover

A relatively quiet weekend for me, or at least I don't feel like I've been bulldozed so that's a start. Friday saw post work pints with dvoid and flox with a few other drop ins, I should really know the answer when I ask "Should I have another pint or..." eventually pried myself off the seat and got home as promised where I fell asleep watching Survivor. Thankfully had assumed I would do such a thing and asked Jim to wake me up at a reasonable hour. Pottered into the Valley, quick stop by Rockas to chat to Dan and Tabs and then off to Faith, far too early, far too sober. Saved by the arrival of what seemed like the entire cast of Interesting Times out for a boogie and then varionic keen for a celebratory night out after renegotiating his salary to something nearing his worth. Eventually joined by domesticmouse and notagod and waited around for the obligatory 3 songs I could be arsed dancing to (still... Starsign at Faith, that's been a while) before heading back to Rockas to find most of my crew gone and J-San playing a god awful set that just never seemed to take off.

I did get to see Mouse almost get king hit by Wayne (the manager of Rockafellas), already in a foul mood after discovering dealers in the club (by way of the boys in blue at that) for screaming abuse at a friend at the bar. Thankfully he looked him up and down saw the invisible GOTH RAVER sign on his head and asked if it was a friend of mine before ripping new holes in him. Decided I wanted a reasonably quiet night and needed to be alive during the day so headed home well before the lockout and settled into some chat before bed for a luxuriously normal amount of sleep.

Saturday was the first taste of real spring come summer weather, woke up in a pool of sweat unable to pry myself out of bed. Accordingly took about 2 hours just to get myself up, showered and to the bottle shop for cider. Eventually made it to Bear's place and discovered Lill and Groomy there; cursing myself that I could have grabbed a lift. Had one of those relaxed weekend afternoon BBQs, plenty of shade, cold drinks, good conversation and chilled out fun.

Headed home to change quickly and then to the Breakfast Creek Hotel for catdraco's birthday and wedding reception for she and Tunic. It was quite a mission to get through the main area of the restaurant/bar though, drunken normals everywhere looking at me oddly and jostling me. It felt like a bizarre movie moment feeling hassled and out of place, when I turned the corner to see a brightly lit marquee at the end of a corridor with a number of goths waving me in (insert choral swelling here and video montage of acceptance and celebrating goths). I figure I must have a known look when Darian found me at the bar saying "tiny feet, big shoes, red and black Asian dress... yep that's Amaya". What's to say? Nice conversation, some deep fried brie, not so tasty wine, Cat looked gorgeous, Tunic looked... Piratey, more meals should consist of finger food and cake and a chance to catch up with a few people I rarely see. It was all rather nice anyway.

Headed back to Bear's party with deliveries and a desire from nemokitty to get trashy. I utterly failed having filled myself with a variety of food I was allergic to at the wedding, you know I'm failing in a mission to drink when there's cider and tequila shots on hand and I just can't bring myself to do it for fear of alleviating myself of my stomach contents. Amusingly most of the people who'd been in the afternoon shift had failed to move more than a foot, but had polished off a rather silly amount of beer and rum. Was meant to head to the Valley to hit Chaos AD, but instead settled in to good conversation, drop ins from Charles, z0r and Chef and lots of silliness. I seemed to be in top comedy form for the night - potentially the lack of innebriants and decent amounts of sleep - and had Lill at least in stitches most of the night. Stina wins my love for at least an hour for finding my goggles that I left in the house after Godspeed - with Hello Kitty clips still intact. Hurrah! Shared a cab back home with Lill, chatted to Mason getting ready for HHA5 and went to sleep at a reasonable hour again.

Spent Sunday playing Sims and coding, I've got this suburban Sim family where the wife's life goal is to have 10 children, juggling little Sims everywhere she still wants to be pregnant all the damn time. Sadly my plans to update my computer seem to have been curtailed which is irritating as hell since despite my best efforts in the current heat, out of date and overworked my CPU was overheating and kept crashing every time a video was invoked - at least until sun down when the ambient temperature dropped to a useful degree. Rather cutely Jim asked permission to invite z0r over so we rather meanly roused him from his nap to come visit for terrible food and good TV.

goth raver, sims, pale person in black, geek, weekend
