...Versus The Springhill Mine Disaster

Jan 22, 2006 22:14

When one of my best friends was away for college, she would come home and visit in the summer, and one year, she brought back The Pill Versus the Springhill Mine Disaster by Richard Brautigan. That year-- maybe blame it on the fact that I was 19, maybe blame it on the fact that I was in love with someone who smirked at me too often, someone who didn't love me back-- I read his poetry and laughed, put the book down, thought it was so comical, a gag gift. Now I read it, do think it's comical at times, but enjoy it thoroughly. Forgive me, Richard Brautigan. Part of my userinfo is now designated for you.
