Tomorrow, we are strangers again.
Tomorrow, three tables, four rows of benches,
and a hundred students will fill the space between us.
In any room, there will be voices, and books, and years, and so much space.
Tonight, my breath on the window, is a smudge of grey.
Tonight there is so much space, and you are somewhere out there,
somewhere hidden in the muffling of snow on darkness.
And I’m reaching across all this space, wishing for you.
