i just spent the day waiting, calling, running around the neighborhood hoping to get cats. i got into the backyard of the abandoned house and saw the big grey cat, jueves. of course he bolted as soon as he saw me. the most discouraging thing of all is that the lot i saw them in last night is only accessible during the day til 4:30pm. a part of me

- rent traps from either the local pet food store or shelter.
- put those out with food in them, cover with a towel/blanket (esp those that smell like you/your home)
- put treats into the traps
if you are not going to be able to sit there and capture them in the house - this is the only way to get cats. you are likely going to get other cats in there, which is why i recommend multiple traps. but having familiar scents will help to draw those 2.
don't give up - because it takes time to get the kitties after a crisis. remember - we lost tetsuo for like 2 mos and M lost yoni for 3 mos just 2 yards over. yet - they are both here with us and all is well.
but - get the traps (they are like $10 to rent) - and have patience. i would suggest putting the trap on your steps - cause they are looking to come home. they are running away because they are outside and its fun and its their neighborhood and they feel safe. you know they are there - so it's just a matter of catching them. i would think the landlord will let you have them out in the back.
i've got to deal with my boss for dinner tomorrow night and mtgs friday here. but - i've got flexibility next week and will definitely be up. actually planning on SF meetings in particular.
xx i'm here and i love you.
