He is dead....

I sure this will be plastered over many a LJ by now.

But...

Steve Irwin aka The Crocodile Hunter is DEAD!!!

I feel like I'm in some twighlite zone. He died this morning while on a film shoot for his new series. He got stung by a sting ray straight into the chest. And now he's.. dead.

It feels surreal. I never liked his antics, I've never seen him in person. But he had a big personality. Everyone always thought he's die from the stupid crazy stuff he pulls. And now he actually IS dead.

It makes me sad. It really makes me sad. And I don't realy even know why. The thought of a persons life being extinguished like that... the fact that he was a celebrity... If random people die you don't really get affected. As harsh as that sounds it is true. But when a celebrity dies you feel something. It is because you get a personal invite into a glimps of their life. I feel sorry for his wife and kid. Dying from old age seems alright but if you are taken from the prime of your life it depresses me.

This is so weird and scary. Just brings it back home how things can happen out of the blue and you can die at any point in time.

I really like this song...

Borderline by Chihiro Onitsuka

zatsuon ga shizukesa ni kawaru shunkan o
kizuna ga sukoshizutsu kakeru sangeki o
kirisakeba raku ni nareta shouko
douka minogasanaide
okisaru no wa kako dake de ii

Feel across the borderline
Now you’re saved and you understand
saa kami no yubi o nameru no

anata ni wa teion na omosa shika mienai
sore nara himitsu nado kyouyuu dekinai
hagurema ga oto o tateru toki ni wa
izon o jikaku shite ite
tsukanda sono te o hanashite

Feel across the borderline
Now you’re saved and you wake up
saa kono sadame o tadoru
ubau no ga nani o gaisureba
sekai wa yugamu no mo oshimazu ni
Feel across the borderline

shinario mo shidai ni henkei o isogu
kaitei mo akari no more o omoidasu
sawameki to ima te ni shita kagi de
jibun ga nani o okoseru?
kanashimi demo honou demo tomoseru?

Feel across the borderline
Now you’re saved and you understand
saa kami no yubi o nameru no
arayuru doku ga sono iki o
hisomete wa semeai o motometeru
Feel across the borderline

That's only the Romanji. I cannot find a direct translation, sorry.

This song is really something. It uses piano. You can feel the keys being depressed. The melody is slow and heavy throughout, with a melancholy feel to it. Onitsuka's voice has a mature quiver to it. I get the impression that she has a great vocal range if she really wanted to make a dint in a song. As the song progresses it picks up more speed as the violins come into it. It has a great buildup and then a release of passionate lyrics.

It gives me shivers. Especially when the song has progressed so far that it takes on an ethereal quality. But her voice grounds it so well.

I'd really like to know what the lyrics are about. I read up on Onitsuka-san and she impresses me. She wasn't one of those musical prodogies. She took a while to figure out that song writing and singing was what she wanted to do. When she found her inspiration she spent a lot of time writing so her songs are heavily driven by the lyrics.

Anyway, without further ado...

And I have STILL not started my essay.

FUCK!

I got Legend of Dragoon and Xenogears in the mail today. Sweet! But odd... I was under the impression that Xenogears spanned over 4 discs... this is only 2 discs. Hmmm.

And I changed my LJ look. It's green now. YEAY!

Ja Ne!

important moments, mp3
