Amanda Palmer is...

HOT!

Sorry, it is true. And she fucking rocks. I got to spend last night with good company and be within touch of Amanda Palmer. That has to be one of the best shows I have ever been too.

A bunch of us caught up before hand and went to grab some food and drink over at the Flaying Saucer, which come on, it's called the Flying Saucer. After meeting some old new friends, and some new new friends. One of them being a guy named Beyond Joy who also fucking rocks and is a big sweetie, we all boogied over to the Lincoln Theater right down the street and happen to walk in on Vermillion Lies, a sister cabaret duet singing songs about getting off to the solar system. If you get the chance the song is called 'The Astronomer' and if you like nerdy porn music you should hear it.

The next band up was the Butchers and the Builders, who look like a bunch of flannel wearing lumberjacks but you would be mistaken and while their sound has a bit of a backwoods sort of feel it also is extremely energetic and the lyrics are witty and devious. I have much love for this band, and their strange use of instruments unknown to me (my friend Jon Hatch describe one as the musical bong) and multitudes of megaphones and old washboards. I will be sporting their fun apparel.

and of course last but not least was Amanda Palmer and the Danger Ensemble. The whole night begins with this great mourning event because of course, Amanda is dead. But oh the joy, when she walks right up behind us in the crowd to be within arms reach veiled in a sad, funeral march. She is lifted onto the stage by the Danger Ensemble where they unveil her and she instantly starts playing. I love the fact that she had a really awesome violinist along side her all night long... Linden Chester or something along those lines. I was just awed and mesmerized all night. And now to my great love I can't seem to get 'Coin Operated Boy' out of my head. Definately a performance I am glad not to have missed.

The only sad part of last night was that it occurred on someone else's birthday celebration which as I hear was also fucking awesome and I wish I could have been there for that as well.
