A/N: I think this one has been the most fun to write so far. ;) Much love to
catyuy and
carapheonix for their suggestions and ideas. And maybe there's a little inspiration from True Blood in this chapter, lol.

Prologue 1 - January 2 - February March
Elle and Gabriel take their journey past the Mason-Dixon line. They cause small commotions in little rinky-dink towns hidden in the midst of backward towns of the deep South. Nothing major as nobody with worthwhile powers were living there. It was just fun to blow into town, scare a few of the locals, and then head out again.
"Hmm, St. Patrick's Day, there's going to be a lot of drunk people inside." Gabriel muses as he steps out of the car.
"I can't wait, it will be fun." Elle replies. She tugs down her shirt a bit to reveal more cleavage. Gabriel stares at her, lust darkening his eyes. Elle's dressed in a jean miniskirt that barely covers a thing, a black short-sleeve deep V-neck t-shirt, and a pair of stilettos.
"Christ, Elle. You're asking to be groped."
"And I can take care of it," Elle waves off. She walks over to him and pushes him against the car. She grabs his face and pulls it down to hers for a hot kiss. "Unless it's you. Then you can grope all you want." She giggles and pushes herself away from him. "Wait 30 seconds after I enter the bar to come in. And try not to kill anybody just yet if you get jealous."
Elle confidently walks into the bar and is immediately hit with the smell of beer and cigarettes. Over the loud chatter of the patrons, a jukebox is playing Sweet Home Alabama. She rolls her eyes at the music and saunters to the bar to find her and Gabriel's next victim, Jack Merlot.
Jack was an interesting target. The owner/bartender had quite the interesting power, the ability to turn water into any alcohol.
"At least his name isn't Jesus and he isn't a carpenter." Gabriel had laughed earlier.
While the ability wasn't a useful one in a fight, Elle had pleaded with Gabriel to take it. "Please?"
"Elle, why?"
"Because you want to see me drunk...and that would be worth your while," she had purred in his ear.
Gabriel couldn't argue with that, so Elle won her case.
As Elle makes her way to the bar, Gabriel enters. Dressed in jeans and a button down shirt like all the other locals, he blends in. He walks to the opposite end of the bar so he's far enough from Elle that he's not associated with her and close enough to keep an eye on her and the bartender.
"What would you like?" Jack asks cordially as he walks up to Gabriel.
"Give me a Guinness."
"Good choice," nods Jack. When Jack goes to fill a mug for him, Gabriel eyes him carefully. Jack is a thirty something man with shaggy dirty blonde hair, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with the bar's logo. Doesn't look like he would be a special. Gabriel plunks down some money when the bartender returns with his drink. As he slowly sips his beer, he watches Elle work her magic on the bartender. She's gives him flirtacious smiles and even leans over the bar to put her cleavage on display.
When he sees the bartender stare down Elle's shirt, he almost wants to send him flying through the window. But he controls himself. He'd have time for making the bartender pay later on.
Instead of letting his jealousy get the better of him, hi's eyes look over the rest of the bar and falls onto a group of girls that were smiling at him. They were exactly the type of girls he figured to be patrons of this bar. The girls, all with various shades of blonde, brunette, and red hair, were wearing tops that left nothing to the imagination, mini-skirts, and cowboy boots. Gabriel gives a small grin and nods to them before turning his attention back to Elle and Jack.
A few minutes later, Gabriel watches the bartender nonchalantly leave the bar area and head presumably towards a back room or office. It isn't long before Elle gets off the bar stool and walks in the same direction as the bartender. As she passes Gabriel, he stands up and follows her.
They find themselves in a hallway when Elle suddenly stops and turns around to Gabriel.
"I saw you looking at those girls," she hisses.
"What girls?" Gabriel shrugs nonchalantly.
"Those fake and bake hoochies with their chests hanging out! They were practically drooling all over you!"
"Ohhh, those girls,"
Elle sends him a small zap to his shoulder. 'Jerk."
Gabriel laughs. "And you know that they're nothing next to you." He takes her shoulders, turns her around, and gives her a little push. "Now go do your job."
Outside James' office, she motions for Gabriel to stand back a few feet before she knocks on the door. The door opens and Elle walks in, closing the door behind her. Gabriel counts down 10 seconds before he bursts in. When he walks in, he finds James sitting in a chair, face in shock. Elle sits on his desk, legs crossed, and taunting James with an electric sphere that she's holding.
"Hello, James."
"Who are you?"
"Me? I suppose you can call me Sylar."
---
"Test it out!" Elle urges. She grabs a water bottle from the mini fridge located next to the desk.
Gabriel twists off the cap and sticks a finger into the water. Staring at the bottle, he concentrates hard. Slowly the water starts turning into the color of mahogany and Gabriel takes his finger out and takes a sip. A smile emerges on his face. He offers the bottle to Elle.
"Ew, do you have to stick your finger in it?" Elle asks, slightly disgusted.
"Well, get me another bottle and let me see."
This time, he merely held the bottle in his hand and while the color didn't change, one sip proved that it wasn't water in the bottle.
Elle claps gleefully. "Cool! Now keep making more and we can do body shots."
Gabriel cocks his head at her and a devious smile spreads across his face. "Coming right up."
---
Drunk from the new power and the several tantalizing body shots, Gabriel is bending Elle backwards over Jack's desk pushing up her mini skirt and reaching for her underwear. He deftly pulls them down, sliding his fingers into her and his thumb works her clit. At his touch, Elle's hips buck and she arches towards him.
"Need you now," she moans.
He quickly pulls down his pants and his boxers, his cock already hard. Swiftly he plunges into her and leans over her as he thrusts. As she brings his face down to hers, her legs wrap around his waist, sinking him in deeper. Each thrust brings her closer to an orgasm.
"Oh my God!" Her eyes roll back as she comes. Her orgasm makes her tighten around him, causing his release. He braces himself against the edge of the desk with Elle's legs still wrapped around him. They both pant to catch their breaths and to get their heart rates back at a lower rate.
Gabriel takes a hand and brushes Elle's bangs away from her sweaty face. "No, not quite God," he smirks.
A few minutes later, the two are fixing their clothes and Gabriel hears Elle giggle as he zips up his pants.
"Oh, I forgot we had a viewer," Elle tilts her head and Gabriel follows. In their line of sight was Jack's bloodied corpse.

April
Driving in Louisiana
The two make their way along the south central border. Elle's always wanted to go to New Orleans and luck was on their side since a special on their list resided there.
"What's this one?"
"Renee Serafina. She's a healer."
"Oh that will be a nice addition to the collection. I'll be able to heal you if you ever get hurt."
"Apparently, she masquerades as a voodoo priestess in order to use her ability."
"Well then...maybe one of us should start acting affected."
"Might as well be me. It still hurts sometimes where Glasses shot me the second time." She reaches down to the spot where a bullet had tore through a few months earlier.
---
Renee Serafina's store
Taking a deep breath, Elle smooths down the front of her shirt as she stands in front of the store. She turns her head back towards the car where Gabriel sits. He nods slightly to encourage her.
A bell jingles as Elle opens the door to the shop. She looks around at the decor, wrinkling her nose in distaste as she sees the shrunken heads and similar decor lining the shelves along one wall.
"Hello!" A thirty-something woman with long dark curly hair, dark complexion, and huge brown eyes walks over to greet Elle. "What may I do for you?" she asks in a Cajun accent.
"I'm Elle Bishop. We spoke on the phone earlier? I've been experiencing pains in my left leg for no reason lately. I think someone out there must be playing around with a doll of me."
"Oh of course," the woman nods. "I'm Renee, welcome to my shop. Please follow me and we'll take care of your problem." Elle follows her but not before looking back towards the front door where she knows that Gabriel is counting down until he enters.
---
Backroom
"Please lie down on this table," instructs Renee.
Wordlessly, Elle gets onto the table and lies down. She tenses slightly as she feels the woman's hands on her leg.
"Please, relax. This will be quite painless, I assure you." A soothing warm feeling accompanied by occasional tingles starts to radiate through Elle's left leg. Suddenly the dull ache in her leg that semi-flared up is no longer there.
"Oh wow, the pain's gone!" exclaims Elle. She sits up on the table she was laying on.
"It's what I do." Renee smiles.
"Well, it's amazing, what you do." Elle smiles easily and she sees Gabriel's shadow before he even enters the room.
"Yes, it is quite amazing," he says darkly as he enters.
Renee's smile freezes and she turns around at the intruder. "Who are you? You can't be back here!"
"I can't? Too bad." Gabriel raises his fingers and Renee flies across the room, slamming into the wall. "You see...I don't like following anyone else's rules." He extends his arm, pinning her in an invisible hold. Renee's eyes glance over at Elle.
"Sorry lady. I'm with him," Elle answers unapologetically. She hops off the table and walks to Gabriel's side.
An agonized scream fills the air as Gabriel cuts into her skull. Blood splatters on the floor as Renee's body falls over.
---
"Gabriel..." Elle starts.
"What is it?" he asks absentmindedly as he's picking through Renee's brain, trying to find where the healing power was located.
"I have something for you to fix," Gabriel turns his head slightly to look at Elle. "Me," she says determinedly.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. I deserve to recover what the Haitian took from me."
After finding what he was looking for and wiping his hands on his shirt, Gabriel places his hands on both sides of Elle's head and concentrates. A warmth flows through Elle from her head down to her toes. As former stolen memories start to return to her brain, her eyes squeeze shut.
A little girl's piercing scream resonates beyond the testing room, causing everyone on the other side of the shatter proof glass to wince, except for one man.
"Come on, Elle. I know you can give me more."
"But Daddy...I don't think I can. This hurts so much."
"And what do I say about pain? It only hurts now because you're not doing as this like you should be. You know this is very important."
"Bob. Is this necessary? You've been at this for a week." a voice interrupts.
"Claude, you know it is absolutely imperative that this testing goes through."
"She's 8 years old! No child knows how to control power at such an age."
"Precisely why we're doing this."
"God, you're insufferable. This girl will end up cracked because of you."
Elle knows she wasn't supposed to hear the conversation between Bob and Claude. But Bob had forgot to flip the soundproof switch that would have kept her from hearing.
That memory fades away to yield another one.
A petite twelve year old girl frantically stops her father in the hallway."Dad! What is this? I'm...bleeding."
"Where?" Bob asks sharply.
Elle's voice drops to a whisper. "From down there."
Bob merely sighs. "Elle, it's nothing. It's just your period. Now go into the testing room. I want to make sure your powers are fine."
"But..."
"No, buts. Now go back in the room, Elle!"
Elle shuffles off around the corner but stops and peeks when she hears voices. Her father is now joined by two others.
"Bob, do you really have to treat your daughter that way?"
"Claude, I need to know if her period will affect her ability. And no better time to test it than right now when she has it."
"I really can't believe I helped you create this company. You honestly don't care about people at all, do you?"
"Of course, I care, Victoria. I care about knowing to what extent people and their abilities can go."
Victoria's features twist into annoyance. "Listen King Midas, one day your life will be at stake, and you better hope that your daughter still loves you enough to save you."
"Vicky, let's go. We'll leave Goldfinger 'ere to do his business."
A short while later, Claude and Victoria enter Elle's testing room where she remained after tests were done.
" 'ey girly."
Elle sniffles. "Hi Claude."
"We overheard the conversation between you and your dad. And listen, it's not what you think. You're not dying."
"I'm not?"
"Absolutely not. I can't really explain it too well but I brought someone who can."
Elle looks up at the woman standing next to Claude. "Ms. Pratt."
"Hi, Elle." Victoria sits down in a vacant chair near where the young blonde sits. "Claude's right. You're not dying. What you have is your period. It comes every month."
Elle's eyes widen. "Every month? But it hurts so much..."
"I know. But it will be okay, I promise." Looking at Elle's tear streaked face, Victoria sighs. "Don't listen to your father." She reaches out and gently takes Elle's hand. "Listen, you might not think so, but your period is actually a good thing.."
"Really?"
"Oh yes. And we'll go out and get some stuff-" Victoria is interrupted.
"What are you two doing in here? Claude, didn't you have an assignment and Victoria, aren't you supposed to be working on Strain 138?"
"Fine, we're going." The two make for the door. As they leave, Claude turns around to Bob. "Father of the Year, you are."
---
When the slight pressure of Gabriel's hands on her head are gone, Elle opens her eyes to find him staring intently at her.
"Well?"
"I...remember everything." She looks down at her hands. "I remember all the testing my father did on me. I...used to be a normal little girl. Then..." Her voice drifts off as she clenches her fists. "I was never good enough! He kept making me do test after test because he wanted more and more until I had nothing left to give. God, Glasses was right." She breaks down, harsh sobs escaping her.
Gabriel pulls Elle to him in a tight hug, stroking her hair wordlessly. "Son of a bitch. I'm glad I killed him," he thinks.
Elle pushes away suddenly. "I hate them all..Angela, Arthur, Glasses, they could have stopped my father. But they didn't. They let him test me! The only ones that even remotely cared about my well being were Claude and Victoria Pratt." Her fist crackles with bright blue sparks as her anger takes over. "I'll make them pay!" she yells as electricity erupts from her and flows every which way, setting nearby things on fire.

"God, you look so sexy in that outfit." Gabriel's eyes appreciately look over Elle's body as he sits on the edge of the bed. "But you'd look even more amazing out of it."
Elle smirks at him as she pulls the corset down a little further to enhance her cleavage. "We don't have time for that right now," she slaps his hands away playfully as they make their way up her torso.
Gabriel pulls her down to him and his lips cover hers. His tongue probing her lips until she opens her mouth to allow further exploration. It's only when a spark jumps from Elle's tongue to his that the kiss breaks off.
"Come on, we have a task to accomplish first. I know how much you missed that memory ability you got off that waitress from Texas." She runs her finger along the collar of Gabriel's shirt. "Then maybe we can play." Elle stands up straight. "First, time to put the sin in sin city."
---
"Excuse me sir? I have a note for you," Elle hands over a folded piece of paper. The man turns to Elle and smiles slightly when he sees her. Taking the note from her hand, he turns his attention back to the poker table. Elle watches him unfold the note and read the contents, smiling as she sees the man frown slightly and excuse himself from the table. He doesn't look at Elle as he walks away through the rest of the VIP High Roller room and she takes the opportunity to discreetly follow him.
Gabriel is waiting at the entrance of the room and calls out to the man. "Sir? You're Daniel Slater, correct? I assume you received my note. I'm the casino manager's assistant and he wanted me to pass along a message to you."
"Yes," the man shortly answers and follows Gabriel to a hallway and into a small office. Once there, the door slams shut and Daniel finds himself forced into a chair.
"Mr. Slater...or may I call you Daniel?" Gabriel asks smirking,as he circles around the man. "I guess it doesn't much matter...since you're not going to be alive long enough to care what I call you." He raises his hand.
"I know who you are."
Gabriel pauses. "Excuse me?"
"You're not deaf, you heard me."
"Well then, who am I?" Gabriel carefully sits on the edge of the desk, staring coldly at this insolent man.
"You're Gabriel Gray. Adopted son of a watchmaker and the real son of a man who-."
"You're wrong, Angela and Arthur Petrelli are my parents." Gabriel interrupts.
"No, you're wrong. They're not."
---
Outside the office, Elle stands guard. Leaning casually against the wall, she merely looks as if she's any other casino waitress taking a break. After a few minutes, she wraps a hand around the doorknob and enters the room, closing and locking the door behind her.
"I got tired of waiting outside." Elle complains. Then she notices their target is still alive and that Gabriel is sitting down in a chair with a look on his face she hasn't seen before. "What's wrong?"
Before Gabriel can speak, the high roller interrupts. "I was telling him that I know Primatech and I recognize both of you. I used to be an office slave, I read through every file as I had to organize them. I remember everything I ever read. You're Bob's daughter, I remember you walking around the hallways like you owned the place. And he...is Gabriel Gray. Well, his adopted name at least."
"He was telling me Angela and Arthur aren't my parents."
"What?"
"His birth parents' names were whited out. You really think the Petrelli's would have done that if they were his parents?"
Elle gauges Gabriel's reaction to the news. Shocked at this new development, she turns her attention back to Daniel.
"How do we know you're not lying and you're just trying not to get killed?"
"I guess you don't." He shrugged, his eyes daring her to do something. Elle gives him a dirty look and sends a blast his way.
"Gabriel! Take his power and let's go." she orders. "Or I'll just fry him into oblivion."
Gabriel's mouth sets in a firm straight line as he stares hard at the man sitting in front of him. "No, I want his power." He stands up suddenly, his chair sent backwards. One hand is raised and pointing straight at the man's forehead.
Elle smiles with satisfaction as the familiar drops of blood start falling down Daniel's face.
---
"Do you think he was lying?" Elle quietly asks as Gabriel picks through the man's brains.
"No...I don't think so." Gabriel reluctantly responds.
"Well, good thing for you is that the next person on the list is a human lie detector."
Gabriel looks up at Elle and raises an eyebrow at the news. "Well, that certainly is something good to hear." But worry is still etched across his face.
Elle sighs. "You're better off not being a Petrelli anyway. Do you honestly want to belong to a family like that?"
Gabriel wipes his hands on his pants and stands up, turning to face her. "I...don't know." Frustrated, he runs a hand through his hair. "I thought I finally found my real family and it was something uplifting, believe it or not."
Elle reaches up and places both hands on either side of his face. "You don't need them. I'm your family now," she says softly as she gently guides his face down to hers for a soft kiss. "And when we get you all the powers you need, we can take down the ones who destroyed us." Her hands slide down to fiddle with his tie. "But I think you need to get your mind off of this for now. And I have just the thing back in our room."
"And what might that be?"
Elle starts walking towards the door and pulls Gabriel along by his tie. "I bought a book awhile ago when I knew we were coming here. Maybe you're familiar with the title? It's called the kama sutra."
