Well, the slow march to health continues with another 1.8 lbs shaved off my body. I know that a slow, steady burn is the healthiest way to lose weight; it's also the method most likely to keep the weight off. I can't help wishing things were moving faster, though! I guess that's a result of living in fast-paced, instant-gratification New York City. However, the fact that I've spent all week crammed behind a computer writing music certainly can't help - I need to a find a way to get more activity.
On the upside, I'm discovering the return of "hope" to my body image. Before I decided to get back into shape two weeks ago, I was disgusted by my body whenever I saw it, and would avoid mirrors as much as possible. Now when I look in a mirror I can see myself as a "work in progress" rather than as a "failure." Frankly, it's a lot more fun this way.
