Now I can just go in to work and do the minimum, since I know for a fact that it means jack to them, what I do.
Lets see how they feel about that.
And since when is $3000 an insignificant salary difference?
better yet, why should I teach someone how to do my job, when they are hired making $5000 more than me and have a senior title, and don't know their ass from a hole in the ground?
Last, if you intend to tell your employee that you feel she does not deserve a raise because you think that she makes enough, even though what she makes is less than all other employees doing the same job, perhaps you should tell her yourself, and not force someone else to do it for you. And don't pretend to be surprised when that employee is in a bad mood afterwards. And no, sending stale cookies over via a proxy doesn't help either.
