So. What's going on. Um, not really anything. Kids are still at school, Chris still at work, and I'm still gestating. One more week until my due date, although I hope I don't even make it to that. Although I must say, this child has been extremely active today. I've had little feet sticking out of my side all day, which is actually pretty funny. They'll stick out and then move and go away. Very weird, but cool. And wonder of wonders we have finally decided on names! So I guess it's a good thing it hasn't come yet. I have been working on the diaper bag these past few days. I sure hope it ends up ok, because it looks pretty neat so far. Good thing I'm not in school this semester after all.
This being 9/11, all I'm going to say is that I'm glad we don't have a tv because we have not been innundated with "it's been 5 years! Let's devote all our time and energy to 9/11 programming 24/7!" Not that this isn't an important date (I will certainly never forget where I was and the grief I felt), but I don't think that a national tragedy should be banked upon for entertainment value/ratings.
Our scary basement is still scary. We have discovered we have mice as well as a rat who said hi once. The rat may or may not be there, but we do know that the mice at least are living in the wall in a room in the basement. So yesterday during the Weekend of Feverish Cleaning at the Edwards House, Chris put mouse traps in the kitchen and bathroom, one in the basement (although he should've probably put more) and also a rat trap down there as well. Then he came upstairs and we proceeded to eat dinner when all of the sudden the dog started barking and ran to the basement steps (she won't go down because even she thinks it's scary). Yep, caught one. So he threw it away, all the while I had my eyes closed tightly. He then tells the kids and I hear my baby (not the one in utero thank you) scream "Yeah!". I knew that was the answer to the question "do you want to see it?". So they saw it, Chris took the garbage out, and they ran excitedly to me to tell me all about it. Then O'Bryen drew a picture of the cat catching a mouse. There was much rejoicing. I'm just glad one is down, but I shudder to think how many we have to go. Chris is my hero though.
Today was rather autumnal with overcast skies and temps in the upper 50s. Of course it's supposed to be 80 in a few days, but today was so cool I had to close all the windows. It was lovely. I pretty much slept all day because I was so uncomfortable, so it was out to eat for dinner. We had Greek, yumminess! I think baklava is a slice of heaven in pastry form *swoon*! And oh darn, I had to save the rest for tomorrow!
Oh, Pete and Vanessa, your stuff is ready, but I can't find a box that fits it.So it'll be a bit longer before I send it to you. Just FYI.
We watched V for Vendetta last night. Loved it! Frankly Hugo Weaving is genius and is rather debonair in this role. *sigh* Just very entertaining. Then of course there's Stephen Rea and Stephen Fry, who are always wonderful.
I can't believe how late it is. Phish Food is calling and so is my heartburn. Laila tov girls and boys.
