There's a lot of music that goes on in this little backwater, but my schedule prevents me from hearing most of it. Last night, I went with a friend to see the one show that my schedule has allowed. I haven't seen They Might Be Giants live in many years, but the spirit of their show hasn't changed. I've never seen them in an outdoor venus, so that was neat, because there were just throngs of people. My friend is both a concert newbie and a TMBG newbie, so it was a lot of fun all around. It's rare that I get to watch a show and still make it to work on time. The last time it worked out like this, I got to see the White Stripes. Maybe the next time I'll get to see The Cure or something.

I was also very pleased to discover that the pay-for-download site the Johns have up also includes the past shows on this current tour. I'm hoping that this show tonight gets put up; I'll buy it and distribute it to everyone that couldn't make it tonight. That's just the kind of guy I am this week.
