So my dad just told me that my Bassett Hound, Sir Wrinkles of Belaire, died last nite.
We've had Wrinkie for years...When we got him he was so small that he would get lost in the grass. He used to step on his ears and they would always flap in his water when he was drinking. We named him Sir Wrinkles of Belaire, because we got him while we were living in an area of Cutler Ridge known as Belaire. Also, when we examined his family tree, everyone else had been named with long royalty-like names. Then we thought up the "Wrinkles" part, just because his face was one big droopy wrinkle.
Everybody loved Wrinkie. When he would bark, it wasn't a typical bark. It was more like a long, deep..."Boooooof!" He was a fatty, with his short little legs and long ears.
We have four dogs, and they were all under the patio, since they were getting uncomfortable being in the laundry room, and it wasn't too bad out last nite. But my dad said Wrinkles had fallen into the pool, and couldn't get out.
Now I'm sad. And I know my dad is too, cause Wrinkles was his baby.
