Chapter XVI

"I have to talk to him today no matter what."

Yoochun, this time, was very determined to solve any misunderstandings between him and Junsu. He knew that if this goes on any longer, he won't have any time left since his mother seemed really interested in the princess they visited a few days ago. By then he will be forced to marry her and will never seen his Junsu again. So here he was, standing in front of Junsu's room, taking a few deep breaths and preparing to knock. Before he could raise his fist, the door opened and there stood Junsu, shocked.

"Um...hi..."

"Hey..."

"Junsu-"    "I-"

Both turned their heads away and found themselves again in awkward silence. Yoochun rubbed the back of his neck and closed his eyes, thinking of how to start. However, it was Junsu who initiated the conversation.

"Look Yoochun, I know that I said some really mean things to you last time and, well, I don't even remember half of what I said but...I-I just want to say that I'm sorry. I was being unreasonable and unfair to you. I was having a really bad day so I kind of got out of control. I know I shouldn't have taken my anger out on you. So will you forgive me?"

"Junsu I'll always forgive you, no matter what you did. I actually really appreciate you saying all that because it tells me that you're being honest with your feelings and I like that. And when I'm being a jerk, just tell me. I promise I won't get angry at you."

"Alright. So..are we friends again?"

"I thought we were lovers babe."

"Oh were we?"

"Yah!" Yoochun pinched the tip of Junsu's nose lightly then pressed his lips against the boy's.

"That's your punishment for forgetting. Now let's get going."

Junsu tugged Yoochun's arm back before he could walk any further forward. He wrapped his arms around Yoochun and laid his head on his chest, inhaling the prince's scent.

"Su? What's wrong?"

"I...want to tell you about..me..."

"Junsu, you don't have to do that. I can wait till you're ready."

"But I have this feeling that if I don't tell you now, I won't be able to later."

Yoochun pushed Junsu into the boy's own room and shut the door. He made sure that nobody would disturb them in this period of time.

"Are you sure about this?"

"...yes."

They sat on the bed, facing one another. All the while, Yoochun waited patiently for Junsu to start. He placed his hand on the boy's back and rubbed it softly attempting to calm him down.

"I grew up in Gyeonggi-do....."

After that day of tears, huggles and kisses, all misunderstandings between Junsu and Yoochun finally cleared up. In fact, they both made a promise to be honest with each other from now on. There would be no secrets and only complete trust between them.

Junsu's life started to get better. He was back with his lover and was allowed to work in the same private kitchen as Changmin. Those two have been even closer ever since. He was no longer a dishwasher and was learning how to be a chef by taking cooking lessons from Changmin after Yoochun persuaded the King. The chefs finally left Junsu alone, knowing that if they were caught by Yoochun, they would lose their jobs.

Everything was perfect. However, there was still one obstacle they would never be able to pass.

"Have a seat."

Yoochun cautiously sat on the chair in front of his mother. He could see that she was in a good mood today since there was a slight grin on her face but it did not look friendly at all.

"How is your day today, Yoochun?"

"It was fine. Why do you ask?"

"Isn't it normal for a mother to ask her son these kind of questions?"

"Yes it is. But not for a mother like you."

"I beg your pardon?"

Her icy glare pierced through Yoochun's heart like daggers. The grin she had on turned into a frown then she chuckled.

"I heard something very funny going on in the Jungs palace. It was something about a boy you were close with..."

"Y-Yes. He's a friend of mine."

"Ah..I see. Well that's a relief. I thought you two were in an 'intimate' relationship. That's certainly not true, is it?"

"No..."

Even though Yoochun wanted to stand up for himself and Junsu, he was afraid that if he admitted the truth she would hurt Junsu. He definitely did not want to be separated from the boy again. The fight they had was enough to kill him and it only lasted for a few days. He couldn't imagine a life without Junsu in it.

"Good, good. Because I found a suitable wife for you. Her name is Lee Ji Young. She's about your age and sh-"

"Mother, I don't want to marry her. I-I can't. I don't even know her!"

"Why not? Your friend, Yunho had an arranged marriage and he's happily going on with his life even though his supposed 'wife' is a man. How ridiculous! A man marrying a man? What happens to their future heir? Are they going to adopt some random child and claim it as their own then let him be King? And to think that the King and Queen permit such nonsense."

"They're in love, mom. Who cares what their gender is, as long as they love each other isn't that enough? By the way, I love Junsu and you can't do anything about it."

"Stop this at once Park Yoochun! You are the future heir. I will not have this boy ruin my plans."

Yoochun stood up angrily, the chair falling backward. He walked up to his mother and looked her in the eye.

"You can not separate me from Junsu. No matter what you say, I will not marry that girl."

SLAP!

"I did not raise my son to be like this. You shall do as I say or I will hurt him."

Yoochun held his stinging red cheek and glared at the woman. He gritted his teeth and thought of talking back but stopped himself. He stalked out of the room with his fists still clenched tightly against his sides.

The angry woman watched his son leave the room, feeling no regret from her words. She motioned for a guard to come to her then whispered softly in his ear.

"Make sure you keep a close eye on him and that boy."

In the secret rose garden was a little waterfall where the couple would spend their afternoons playing in the water. Unfortunately, they were only able to play a minimum amount of games since Jaejoong did not know how to swim.

Yunho couldn't stand watching his lover sitting by the rocks while he swam by himself. So he decided that he would, even without the consent of Jaejoong, teach the boy how to swim.

"Come on Joongie."

"I can't! I'm scared. Look at how deep this is."

"Don't worry, I'll hold you."

"No! You can't make me."

Yunho climbed up to where Jaejoong was sitting and held his waist. They slowly slid down the rocks and plunged into the water.

"See? You won't fall. I won't let go of you."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

They stayed in that position for awhile, just holding each other. Jaejoong smiled up at Yunho and gave a soft peck at his cheek.

"Yunnie, I want to try going a little deeper."

"Ok. We'll go together."

Jaejoong clung onto Yunho and they sank into the deep water. He slowly opened his eyes and looked around. It was too dark to see anything but he could slightly make out Yunho's form

Just as he was about to swim back to surface for air, Jaejoong felt lips pressed against his and oxygen was pushed into his mouth. He gripped onto the hands placed on his cheeks and deepened the kiss.

Yunho shifted one of his hands to the back of Jaejoong's head, breathing more air into him. Then the two lovers sank deeper into the dark water, only looking at each other.

Junsu was currently kneeling on the floor and peeking into the oven to see if the cake was done. He waited and waited and waited, constantly checking the timer. It was his first time to bake a cake and he planned on giving it to Yoochun.

"Junsu, just wait over here. The cake won't be done for another half hour."

"It's ok. I'm too excited to look away. I mean it is, after all, my first cake!"

"Alright. But don't complain to me when your knees hurt later."

Changmin couldn't help but smile when he saw how happy Junsu was. He treated Junsu like a younger brother to him and couldn't bear watching him being laughed at by others. So he suggested having Junsu work with him in his private kitchen. Yoochun helped him persuade the King and now Junsu could finally be safe with him and Yoochun.

"Changminnie~"

Jaejoong skipped into the kitchen and pounced onto the tall chef. He was still soaked but didn't change his clothes. Droplets of water dripped onto the tiled floor and made a small puddle around the young prince.

"Yah! You're making my kitchen all wet!"

"But I just have to see you. Yunnie was so sweet today and we kissed!"

"At least change your clothes first. Yunho would kill me if you caught a cold and I didn't do anything to prevent it."

"I'll go later. Oh who's this?"

He noticed a boy around his age, standing next to Changmin. The boy smiled shyly at him and bowed his head. Jaejoong walked up to him and studied his face closely.

"You must be Junsu, the new cook. Changminnie told me all about you. Are you guys together?"

"No, Junsu's mine."

Yoochun stood next to Junsu and put an arm around his shoulders. He held Junsu protectively against him and glared at Changmin.

"Don't you think we look better together than Su Su and this giant? Anyway, you must be Yunho's lover. I'm pleased to meet you Jaejoong."

"And you are..."

"I'm Park Yoochun. Junsu's lovable Chunnie and Yunho's be-"

"JOONGIE!!!!"

Yunho barged into the kitchen with a bunch of towels in his arms. After he and Jaejoong came back from the rose garden, they headed towards Yunho's room to change into dry clothes but Jaejoong suddenly ran off before they even reached their room.

He marched towards Jaejoong and wrapped him up in the big white towels and attempted to dry the boy's hair.

"Where on earth did you go?"

"Sorry Yunnie but I really wanted to see Changmin at that moment."

"You could've visited him after you took a warm bath and dressed yourself properly. Look at you!"

"I was going to go back soon but then I met Junsu and this guy called Yoochun."

"And so we meet my friend."  Yoochun gave an exaggerated bow.

"So this is your lover."

"I-I'm Junsu."

"I'm Yunho. It was nice meeting you all but I have to let boojae take a shower now. Bye~"

Yunho picked Jaejoong up bridal style, the boy still covered in towels. He ran out of the room and left the other three in the kitchen.

"Come visit me next time, Junsu!"  Jaejoong managed to call out before Yunho dashed away.
