sometimes i like to sit on my floor in my underoos watching death cab for cutie videos and realize how worthwhile everything is. forgetting the woes of the day almost helps to forgive those who crossed me during the day. scratch that-- it does. sleep cycles determine the course of my days and it nearly ails me to force myself to bed at four in the a.m.
the beginning of the year is when resolutions are both forged and forgotten and i am unprepared. no resolutions again. i guess i always think about bettering myself in one way or another. my problem is that i feel as if i have so many faulty qualities that it would be unfair to focus on one and let the other run rampantly out of hand.
in the past week i have longed to be at the movies nonstop. i mean, much moreso than usual. in a way that almost scares me. i've used the words 'almost' and 'nearly' 3 times in this short entry, which leads me to believe that i could not possibly be less decisive. that's my resolution. to be more decisive.
anyway. about films, i don't mean the lobby, i don't mean the ticket line, the twenty, or the previews. i mean being in a dark room, with as many as 100 other people genuinely interested in the moving picture on display.
this weekend is HUGE for the independent film community. anyone interested in expanding their views and film going experiences should go see one of these movies this weekend: Brokeback Mountain, Breakfast On Pluto, or The Squid and The Whale. Three new indie films. like i said, HUGE. please, please go see them, if you have any interest in claiming baton rouge as a cultural being in any way.
