i went to the opening of my play (i dunno if its still my play because so many things have been added), "Stealth Mode," and i'm proud to say that i think i am now capable of writing a musical. haha! what started out as a monologue ended up as a musical. ang labo talaga. pero benta -- benta siya sa akin. it's like ok fine whatever meets wowowee. haha. at first, i was really nervous about the play because when i wrote it, i wasn't laughing at it like i did with Isandaang Paraan ng Pagpapa-Cute Sa Iyo and SAWI: Single Ako. Warning Ito. but it ended up having the audience roar with laughter. (guys, i know that you're gonna kill me for saying this, but... i just gotta:) sir niel is a really good director. *now looking for a bomb shelter* though they laughed at the punch lines (thank God, they got them), much of the humor was because of the stage direction...

Hidden Desires Out from the Bag at the One Acts
Jihan Estrella's Stealth Mode and Susan Glaspell's Supressed Desires staged this June by Koine
Tired of keeping your desires all in: to the point that your dreams haunt your waking hours on end? These are symptoms that you've failed to recognize psychoanalytic insinuations of Jung and Freud. The best remedy is to watch the two new hilarious One Act play offerings of the Koine Theater Foundation this month. Running in tandem every friday and saturday (June 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, July 1, 2) at the Koine Acts, will be Jihan Estrella's new work (after the success of her "Death by Obituaries") entitled Stealth Mode and Susan Glaspell's Supressed Desires. Stealth Mode is a comedy about a high school student -- caught stranded in the ladies room without her ID -- hiding not only from Mrs. Cruz, the tenacious megalo-maniac hall disciplinarian, but also from her real feelings towards "her" PJ. Recall the mawkishness you've basked in the past in the name of what you thought was more than just a healthy crush.
The second play, Supressed Desires, is about a young couple who are incessantly driving each other up the wall because of a wife's obsession on psychoanalysis. Bring your beloved over for a date-play to prevent such supressed desires from ruining your very steady relationship. Call 410-4485 to reserve tickets. This intimate theater might be filled for the night, so its best if you'd call in first. Koine One Acts is at the 2/F Forab Bldg. 121 kamuning Road Quezon City.
Don’t be caught flat footed in hiding this June! Let the cat out of the bag and tell "your PJ" how you really feel.
