Stephen and I were talking last night, and he made a comment about how he didn't think we should open any wedding gifts until after we're married. Yeah, I'd go with one round regardless. I tend to prefer efficiency over... sentimentality? whatever implies that you might want to wait to open them. But if you do wait, just one round of cards. Nobody will fault you for not getting back to them until after the wedding...they know you're busy.

At my cousin's wedding they opened all the presents the day after the wedding. They had the family there to help enumerate what was from who and make sure they had current addresses and stuff for people. I don't think waiting till after the wedding is bad form.

yeah, I had noble intentions of writing thank you notes as we received the gifts, but somehow it didn't quite happen, so now we've got the gifts mostly all opened and a big long list of thank you notes to write. shoot! I've still got a couple Christmas thank you notes to write. Hmmm....would it be really bad form to write a combined Christmas/wedding thank you note?

Hah! Stephen and I were smart and waited until they got back before we ordered ours.
