1. Pike/Number One the night he hands over command of the Yorktown to her. I know where I want the story to go, but writing from Number One's POV is hard. I think I've written more Pike/Number One in my head than on paper, but whether I recorded it or not, I've always narrated it from Pike's POV. Now I know why: he is far less prickly and self-contradictory. But also a far less promising vehicle for exploring the ways that women can be both strong and vulnerable at the same time.
2. Joanna fic - this is on the back burner a bit. I need to let it simmer in my mind for awhile until I figure out how to connect all the pieces I have written. Also, I need to figure out what the hell she would say to her dad, and what the hell he would say back. This one keeps growing on me, and I suspect it will take time for it to reveal itself fully.
3. Kirk/Chapel turbolift porn - this is stalled for the moment because Kirk's characterization isn't working, but I'm not giving up on it yet.
Sadly, it might be awhile before any of these stories see the light of day. I was gone last weekend, will be gone again this weekend, and then I will have family in town. Free time is not forthcoming, at least not the kind of free time conducive to writing boot camp.
