The quarter is almost over and I can't help but be glad about it. My Individ's and Soc prof. bothers the shit out of me, and I'm starting to think I should have been slightly more particular when choosing an advisor. You'll never know insecurity unless you sit with a psychiatrist that seems to be over interested in beatnik sexuality and the intricacies of one's own mind. I made the mistake of telling him that Nietzsche was very important to me and that postmodernist thought still has relevance in society today. In response I found that my Dr. Dugan is not only a Doctorate in Psych., but double majored in Philosophy and Sociology as well. Yipty-frickin'-do.
So I sat in this man's office and second guessed myself for about an hour whilst we tore through my academic history. He reprimanded me for my lack of foresight, I tried not to sweat through my shirt.
Our cat is huge and shedding. He suckles still and has pretty consistent halitosis.
I had a conversation with a couple classmates about how no one is perfect and therefore nothing created by man can be, and that money as a system of exchange survives today mostly because of tradition and materialism. They asked me about truth and I said there was no such thing unless it is completely subjective. I said this because no one can ever know it, and that once someone finds a way to find it, they develop a method. This in turn is flawed because everything we do is flawed, and therefore whatever the person found is imperfect. Of course this is accurate only if someone assumes that truth in itself is perfect. If it's not, than I HAVE had the perfect cheese burger.
I think I'm happy right now, it's a really nice feeling.
