shiny random picspam! provenance.

Rewatched this episode at my grandma's house because always putting on Hell House by 'less scary' quotient default can get old (for her; for me, I could watch that episode on loop, man, prank wars = FTW). So I popped in Provenance and wow, I think I really do love the episode a lot. Because Sam's so inherently SAM-ish and dorky cute. Matchmaker! ( Read more... )

(Because normal rewatch = fun, finding new things? Makes me feel less insane for watching over and over. Yay!)

Hahah! Oh man, TOTALLY. And I bet there's a TON of things I've missed too, cause I tend to spend lots of time with caps, but not so much with the actual rewatching of episodes. There isn't time for both! But when you only ever look at caps you miss out on that whole dialogue thing.

You know about the blooper in this one where Jensen says "Jared" instead of "Sam", right? I can only sort of hear it, but I choose to believe it's true on account of it being adorable.

Oh, wait. I thought I was linking to sets of caps, but I was just linking to individual ones. WHOOPS. Dude, I had forgotten about Dean not saying provenace correctly! OH, HILARITY. I'm always super defensive of them playing either of the boys as dim-whitted, but that one really worked for me.

He needs to wear shirts like that more often. They seem more like a Sam thing. I dunno. The default Dean look (in my head) is outer shirt & a t-shirt.

I always think of long-sleeved shirts in general as a Sam thing (especially layered under t-shirts. BLESS HIM FOR THAT), but I associate henley style long-sleeved shirts in particular with Dean cause I'm pretty sure the only long-sleeved shirts we've seen him wear are that style.

And the restaurant caps! So smiley and dimply! I love that even though Sam's probably the most well-mannered and cultured of the three known Winchester boys even he's awkward in Sarah's world. Like, not matter how much he might differ from John and Dean they all still come from the past.

But I liked her and was surprised she barely had any interaction with Sam.

The extent to which Sam wasn't welcome in the Dean/Jo interactions pissed me off and I was in to Dean/Jo (admittedly because I'm always rooting for Dean to get with the ladies). I think they could have used Sam as a way to bring her in to the fold, but instead she just ended up opposing both of them. I loved what they did with her in BUaBS though, all hot-ass man-handling aside. Sam knowing she was in to Dean and Dean being not at all interested in her was much cooler.

But BUaBS interaction = uh, I want more. Not psycho kind, just more Sam/Jo

RIGHT? RIGHT. True story = I have a fanvid of that ep set to the song Sexy Back saved to my computer (and I totally watch it all the time, too) JUST CAUSE IT FEATURES SMOKIN' BADASS SAMMY.

Jo is such a fun nickname/middle name! I've only ever had variations on the name "Steph".

Thanks, dude, thanks! But, wait, Action Features, what? I knew there must be something like that, if I weren't too lazy to figure out anything beyond the absolute basics. I'd still probably want to clean caps from different scenes seperately anyway, though. And for caps from the same scene I usually put them together as a set in PS first and then clean them all at the same time. And in times of extreme laziness you can always assemble the entire picspam as one image, clean it all at once, and then disassemble it for posting. But colours and lighting vary so much I really rarely do that.

I've been trying to look out for little things to keep myself occupied -- like the recent icons I posted, I tried to use random caps or episode stills I hadn't noticed before, because that changes up things, y'know? S3, GET HERE SOONER!

I know about the blooper! Ha, I love it. Giggle like a dork every time I hear it.

Dude, I had forgotten about Dean not saying provenace correctly! OH, HILARITY. I'm always super defensive of them playing either of the boys as dim-witted, but that one really worked for me.

Oh yeah. I hate it when that happens too! I can see why people would complain about S2 especially because of that. In the sense that sometimes the funny stuff would go a little overboard but um. Hey, I can tolerate to an extent.

I always think of long-sleeved shirts in general as a Sam thing (especially layered under t-shirts. BLESS HIM FOR THAT)

Definitely a Sam thing. Though I look at the layering and kind of wonder if they're melting. Uh, okay, so they're in Vancouver but wow, layers.

I love that even though Sam's probably the most well-mannered and cultured of the three known Winchester boys even he's awkward in Sarah's world. Like, not matter how much he might differ from John and Dean they all still come from the past.

YES! Just little actions in that conversation, like how he drinks his beer, or orders food and... all of that. Yes.

I liked how Jo ended up during BUaBS but I hope that isn't the last we see of her. (Psst, vinylroad has been writing some KICK ASS het fic lately, including Sam/Jo and Dean/Jo, so check 'em out if you wish!)

Yeah, I usually get Stef or Steffy, sometimes Stuffy. Uh. But I have a friend who insisted on a different nickname and so she uses that, which is cool. :)

You've got a good point there with the one large image for posting! I thought about doing that halfway into arranging (because I remembered your posts) and then gave up and continued the single caps (also because I wasn't sure what bunches I wanted to arrange).

What I tend to do with caps with picspamming or animations is that I use the Actions palette and record what I'm doing to a particular cap (cleaning/color/lighting, etc.) and then when I'm finished, I stop recording and basically use that action on a bunch of caps with the Automate command so I won't have to repeat the steps manually. You can find info about Actions in Photoshop here, here, and here. It saves SO much time. You could just work on actions for different scenes if you want or particular screencap/episode sets (if you know the lighting/coloring is the same throughout).

And wow, that was long and rambly. Hope it helps though!
