This is what I get for watching the news

I've noticed recently that the Spanish news has been talking a lot about ETA - a terrorist orginzation in Spain that's trying to get their chunk of Spain liberated from the rest of Spain. Anyways, I was wondering what was up with all the recent reporting, and decided to look up some current events...

It seems that a month ago, ETA announced that they were ending their cease-fire with Spain and resuming terrorist attacks. (I was actually aware of the next bit - ) The very weekend I flew in (in fact, the day I flew in), ETA planted a bomb at the airport in Ibiza (leading to crazy long lines at passport control that morning for me). At least ETA generally gives warning and the police came and detonated the backpack. (Police were less successful on 30 Dec 06 when ETA blew up part of Terminal 4 of Madrid Barajas Airport).

So I guess the point is, there's been a lot of coverage lately because ETA is acting up again, which is a bit freaky. There have been some arrests and such...and tomorrow a friend and I are going to Mallorca, which is part of the island group including Ibiza. That said, I guess I should just be thinking along the lines of lightning doesn't strike twice...
