and i danced with a a feather in the wind
carried me through scattered dreams of hand crafted
alters, vivid paint, and fond memories past
a rogue of what had failed stood still and faded with
each passing breath
and the sea drifted you to the outstretched horizon
as i flurried featherlike through waves of afterthought
there was a retracing notion
that repeat i whispered to you in these letters before
a page of black and white
sheet that felt like sand
light that never fades
and a love that drowned like a slowly sinking ship
and i ran through the tall grass by the river where we met
past the shore of the unsettled water of the lake
fell asleep under the shade of a tree
i followed you to that horizon
skipping back with light tread on water
absence felt full
emptiness's warmth cradled me to sleep
a tickle down my arm
and i woke with a flutter
